Does anyone here use it? I've had it since last August - use Skypeout to call hardlines as well as client to client.

I've got it, but just for online use. The quality is great.

I have skypeout but don't use it so much (IP latency from here to anywhere is 150ms, across the pond it's 250; add to that skypeout's latency, and it's just not worth it).
I've been using skype for about a year -- it's very handy if you're not a supernode. The OS community wants folks to use other VoIP protocols, but no solution has the penetration and front-end simplicity of skype. It just works (and it's encrypted).

Yea I agree other clients exist but none have the market penitration approaching Skype. As for the latency, I call Russia on a fairly regular basis and don't have any worst then 100 - 150, but then again i'm in Silicone Valley - probally a couple fat pipes laying around.
Also use Skypeout for when my cell phone is low on minutes - can't argue with 2 cents a minute and credit that doesnt expire 180 days from yr last call. Occasionally u get a weird noise on the other end like a hickup, but its improving a lot since i started using it.
