Title: Thanks for changing the 190s HTC
Post by: Kweassa on April 28, 2005, 04:53:57 AM
A lot of complaints and gripes, frequent discussions, rants and tantrum :D... but still you've gave us what we wanted.

Thanks for changing the cockpit bars, we really appreciate it. And also thanks for having the patience to listen through it all.

If would be even better if you give the D9 and F8 their bubble canopy as in previous versions.

Externally you see the higher canopy, but internally you cannot raise the head higher than in A8 or A5.

Somebody last night wondered if the 109 frames were thinned out a bit, too. I couldn't tell, hadn't flown 109s very recently.

Agreed.  Thanks HTC!

I was happy that it was the 190s turn to get redone, and now we'll be able to get all kinds of nice skins on them.  Love the little things like the new particle effects of the game engine - so now the outer wing guns don't show when you don't load them.  Really appreciate the adjustments made in the latest patch, especially the view.

Yes, great improvement of the 190 cockpit. Not only do we have all the nice eye candy in the cockpit, I can once again see the ground as I plow into it. :p

As far as the 109s go, I didn't notice any difference there; they're all the older models, views are pretty good considering how small they are.

Looks good. TrackIR isnt letting me rock forward and I end up locked in lap gazing mode alot in the new 190.

Thanks for the responsiveness on the 190s, HTC.

Looking forward to upgrades to the p51s, in hopes that we will get a Malcolm hooded B/C version.  :-)

The wings were always rounded properly, there was just a graphical oversight towards the end of the wingtips, which blocked one from seeing the front blade of wingtip from the cockpit.

Thanks HTC, great work.

@Nath, dunno but i have the feeling that there is more "headroom" in the D9 after that patch, cause i can much better check my 6.

Pongo; that's a question of "camera" placement.

I had the same trouble with the camera sat on top of the monitor; so I wall mounted it.

It's now about 3-4 feet away from me; and about a foot higher than my eyeline (pointing down at about 30 degrees to me track hat).

The "lap lock" is completly gone; six views are better; but I find I had to tune the response down a bit; it seems the further away the camera is; the more it magnifies angular movement of your head.
