I suppose seeing this flashing in red for a few seconds on Boot is probably a bad thing?

Are you running two hard drives in a Raid array? If so, is it Raid 0 or Raid 1. Mirroring is Raid 1. Striping is raid 0.
You may have a drive with some bad sectors on it.

Yes, It's a Raid 1 Array. This is going to piss me off I'm afraid.

Actually RAID 1 is what you want in this situation.
You can either swap a new drive in for the old one or attempt to format the bad drive and re-mirror using it. If it was simply corrupted a format may fix it, if the drive is shot you'll need a new one. Just follow the RAID instructions so you don't lose the data on the good drive.
edit: From the looks of your message it's the first drive that's having an issue (0).

Well.... I F10'd into the Raid info and it reports the same stuff. When I hit enter for details then it reports Raid Mode Mirroring but gives striping info and reports the total GB of the two drives.
I gave up and called Tech Support. Friggin machine is only a week old. Let's see if they have a clue.
Thanks,
