I know I'm just forgeting something stupid but how do I burn a .IMG file into a working dvd video? Do I need something beyond Nero?

Recorder -> burn image

Rabbit - I have Nero, and it looks like it can do what you want. In addition to following staga's comprehensive set of instructions, the options you want (in the burn wizard) appear in the following order:
- DVD
- Compile new DVD
- Other DVD formats
- Create a DVD from an Image file.
I've used Nero to create CDs from .ISO images, and it works fine. Can't see that DVD would be much different.
-
1)Open Nero Burning ROM
2)A New compilation window popped up, I just closed this window.
3)From Recorder menu at the top, choose Burn Image.
4)Select the file by forcing to recognize all file types
5)Then the burn compilation window pops up. Just click burn.

I did the choose recorder type, burn image and had the .nrg as expected. Once I burned the image I got stuck with the .IMG file on the dvd instead of the appropiate dvd files. Thats whats getting me, I figured I could just make an image and burn but it actually burns the same .img file. I tried dvd video too. There must be a certain setting that I'm missing but there is nothing in the help and I googled .img and found nothing helpful.

Rabbit - I made the same mistake the first time. Focus on step 3 of my instructions ^ and go from there.

Heh, playing with it now... think my brain is taking a vacation... thanks for the pointers beetle and company..>
OK, I got it... Basically, it's already an image file so you don't need the Image recorder. I got it to go by doing a video dvd and selecting other as advised. I just let it default to some weird format and let it rip. Problem solved. I knew it was something stupid but could not hit it for the life of me earlier. Thats the only issue I have with Nero, it will do just about anything but it does not help ya narrow it down. Thanks again for all the help!
