Title: is my IP number screwed? do i have viruses?
Post by: mechanic on May 02, 2005, 10:36:44 AM
ok, ive posted before about disco problems....

i now know for sure its on my end, nothing to do with savvis or AH.

when i try connecting through my nVidia hub lan, it says its connected, yet I cannot browse the net or play AH on it.

when i right click on my network icon, and select 'repair' it gets stuck whilst trying to 'renew my IP address'

so i have a virus right?

so i try my modem from my local phone company, and dial in the normal way.

with this i can browse for a few minutes then i get discoed from the net and have to redial.

i can log into AH using this connection, but am discoed within 2 mins of loggin without fail.

i have scanned and defragged and cleaned up and spy swept till im blue in the face. nothing helps.

i know this is not your problem HTC, its obviously mine. just hoping you could point me in roughly the right direction.
I only ask because i trust your opinion alot more than some stupid tech nerd on the end of a phone who cares nothing his job other than that he will be on lunch hour in 20 mins.

frustrated.

batfink

PS: HAHAHA wadda'ya know, in the 1 min it took me to type this post out i have been discoed and have to redial to post it.

man this sucks.

:(
