no it doesn't suck
if i may say, the rivets seem a bit "much"
in the 190 pictures i have seen they are not that visible, and they get a bit distracting while flying when they are that pronounced
there is an interesting side effect to them though. in the first pic the left wing white insignia looks better with the rivet lines in it, makes it not as "smooth" like a now-adays sticker all perfect and stuff
you dont have a shot of the side fuselage. what is the camo pattern?
sir, keep up the good work
what real life plane is that based on?
-
Thx Jb i dident make the template work of our own truekill :)

Rivets and panel too noticable. Lower the opacity a bit.
-
Err dident make template but ill try :)
-
If its a template its even easier...
-
heh...
-
Tip. work off of the template. save one as template paint shop file and save a bmp for testing intill you have it just right.
-
Btw what skins have u done? i know u did a 17 just never seen them :( did u post pic on bb? Spade i do work like that.:) i have bout 50layers ;)
-
i stoped working on the b17's for a while. working on movie. i remade the cockpit and fuselage i did not work on wings
(http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/605_1114049209_b17.jpg)
pre weathered
-
can i see a pic from the top?
-
If you want to see the rivits on the wings i already told you if you read above. i did not work on them so its the default b17 with olive drab color.
-
im sry thought u used a diff temp ;)
-
i dont like to use templates because its not my work. I get ideas from other guys though.
I like skinning planes that dont have many skins.
-
190d has 2 skins so far 3rd if they take it this would be my 1st skin. I'll start making templates soon.
-
Lol, completed maybe there's a max of 15 skins for plane. As soon as a plane comes out evereyone over stocks it with all these skins. No offence to alot of you but alot of them look the same. I like seeing unique ideas not a hundred green mustangs or planes from same squadron, if they allowed more then 15 skins id love that. I make movies i need stuff like that. But when theres a limit of skins and half of them are the same. There is no point. I love when guys do special stuff like cockpits and really good shading and details and pilots, it really adds to the game.
-
we can do cockpits? lol well has to b historic ;)
-
Heh u will like my next one raf 51b well nvm mod :(
-
Update :)

Update
-
Find the layer named "panel lines"... It is probably near the top. Set it to lower than you think you need. Set it to 30% opacity. Or lower. That is what everybody is suggesting.
-
this better?
-
I think it should b bout 50 because of the tail
-
Clearly better , Haken cross is perhaps a bit low on the fuselage and number "11" a bit small.
Also You can try to put a little gaussian blur on the rivet layer.
(backup you work 1st ;))
Can you post the profile you are using ?
-
how much more info u want:)

as u can see mine almost the same lol
Should i keep the dark panel lines? or make them a lil lighter?
Like this or make them darker?

I like the panel lines you have in the latest ones.
I do not trust many of the IL2 skins I've seen, but the decal sheets are usually VERY good. I cannot see a lot of detail from that one small picture of white 11 but here's things I can see that are not correct...
The mottleing on the sides should be less "dotty" and more of a wash.
Mottling on the vert stab should be less altogether and more "blurry".
The MG access panel apprears to be aluminum.
it is very hard to tell with the variances in screenshots and lighting but it appears that your colors are a little too brown, DunkelGrun and GrauGrun are not quite so "olive". In my opinion the shades of green used on that decal sheet are very close to correct. Try taking a sample of those and put them next to the ones you are using.
The "squiggle" (what is the correct term for that?) is a little rough, and too far back too.
The chipped paint is a nice effect but too uniform in my opinion.
Wrong font on the werk nummer.
-
can u help me out a little :)?
-
also, 2 related thoughts:
Your entire fuselage side is nearly black. I take it this is the exhaust stains? They seem a bit excessive. Lighten them up (and shorten them so they don't extend to the tail fins).
Also don't forget to put the text and gruppe layers UNDER the weathering! They're bright and clean and stand out too much from the area right around them. Same deal for the white crosses on the wings.
I like this skin, Chimp. Good camo scheme. I agree that it may be too dark, but that's easy enough to fix with filters or individual layers.

Copy and paste one of the parts which is 'adjacent' to the other side, so there is a 'continiuty' when two texture parts meet.
