Title: 190d 9 possible modle bug
Post by: JB73 on May 05, 2005, 11:58:29 PM
or something.....

i have a book at home a "walkthrough" of the 190d, and all the images and panle line drawings i have show the intake on the right side about 1/2 of it's size back.

meaning take the total size of the intake, and move it back 1/2 of it's size. i don;'t know a better way to explain it, but only about 1/8 of it should protrude ahead of the front of the wing root, at least in the drawings, and pictures i have

it seems the 190 in game right now the intake is like that of a D13 not a D9

just an observation, while making panel lines "accurate"

This may help:

Click here for top-down image of 190D (http://www.flightjournal.com/fj/images/plane_profiles/fw190/190d-9.gif)

Compare to the skin viewer's 190D from top-down (default camera) view.

Meh, I count it as a small small problem :) I can live with it!

I just wonder why the Ta152 wasn't redone with the dora...

UPDATE:

But also check here: Scroll about halfway down (http://www.squadron.com/old/fw190d9/fw190d9review.htm)

That 190D-9 definitely has a protruding intake. It sticks well off the leading edge.

i ouldn't count a model as a reliable source for actual plane design.

in my 190 book, the pen drawings, and the actual pictures show what i suspect. alot like that first line drawing you linked to.

the d13 had the much larger and more forward intake

i have to toot my own horn, i have been amazed at all the people here who can spot tiny design items from a plane, i have never been able to do that. this is my first realization of a detail that i can say i see and know the difference ; )
