Title: problem with resolution - no 1280x1024

I just got the latest patch and now AH won't run at 1280x1024.  I've been using that resolution for years now with AH, but with the latest patch it's not offered as an option for some reason.  My LCD is native 1280x1024 so it's sort of a big deal.  The game looks awful at any other resolution, and my desktop is sized at 1280x1024.

The game offers 1280x960 and 1600x1200, but not 1280x1024.  Both video7.cfg and video8.cfg show resolution to be 1280x1024.

BTW, "color depth" is misspelled "colordebth" in the the video config file.

Any ideas?

eagl, use Notepad to edit the "video8.cfg" file (in the Aces High II "settings" folder) and set the resolution to 1280x1024.

Skuzzy,

It was already 1280x1024 and that wasn't working.  I tried deleting the video7 and video8 cfg files and that didn't help either.

I tried unchecking the preloads, tried reducing texture size, pretty much tried all combos, and I can't get 1280x1024 to come up as an option.

I do have FSAA enabled in the vid drivers so I'll turn that off and try again...

eagl, you will not get the choice for 1280x1024.

You must manually edit the "video8.cfg" file, do not delete it and change the "Height" value from 960 to 1024.  It will work then,

Ok.

I manually changed it and it looks like it worked.  I think with FSAA it may have looked like it wasn't at 1280x1024 due to menu fuzzing.  It had re-done the texture cache and then the options were only 1280x960, so my poor stupid brain got confused.

Any chance of adding 1280x1024 back into the menu?  How about speeling color debth correctly?  I don't know why, but the misspelling bothers me :)

Well, it turns out that I'm a retard anyhow.  It wasn't even the latest version.

After manually editing the cfg file, I tried to enter the arena and got another patch.  Oops.

This time, it actually does offer 1280x1024, but 1600x1200 is missing.  I'm sorry for wasting your time.  Nice reaction time on the tech supp board answer though :)  HTC tech supp rules.

I have this prob. It has the option for 1024x1012 and shows this in game, but when I go back to the video settings it had gone back to 1024 x 960 even though it still says 1012 in the game?? Looks ok mind.
