What about us? It is now 47 minutes before the start of the event I have not received orders, this sucks ! I want to know who is responsible for getting the orders out.

Umm, BBQ_BoB, there was a fire at the HTC server. The FSO site was down until Thursday. I sent oredrs out to the email given to me by the CM team. So before you start going off, why don't you try getting some info on the situation first.

Your right, 47 minutes was plenty of time to start gathering info.

Yooooo time out go to respective corners.

BBQ there was probs this week with HTC.  Map did't change and orders were somewhat similar to last week, so not much time needed to group and up.  IMO if ya scouted last week, then even if ya got the ords 10 minutes before flight ya could get it together.

JB's I understand where your coming from and I don't think BBQ does, but don't let the weeks frustration out here. I realized you guys were trying and were screwed.

everybody wants to do well, nobody is here to screw anybody.

so just relax

and raise the Stein and Salut the Fatherland. and get drunk....

lets pizz on the allies not on each other.:aok

47 min?   Hell 45 min should be fine!

We all had a short time to get set here and its all in fun. This is one of the only times we get to see the other side. Bish,Knight and Rook. Love shooting you all down but, it's one time we can work with the other side and see what the can do.

Its nice to fly with and work with the guys you spend all your time tryin to kill.

I love that there's a mystical force out there that prevents these guys from getting orders.

I've never seen anything like it.

Ok that's fine, you guys are right we should be happy with the" mystical force". And besides it all in fun right. At least now I know that it is acceptable (as long as it does not happen to you) to receive your orders right before the start of the event.
I was just thinking that maybe we could get our orders when everyone else does.

Let me assure you that I am quite able to comprehend the ramifications of a fire and the effects upon a server, that would explain one week at least. Anyway that is all I have to say I just hope that you can understand where I am coming from. When you go to your squad and they ask what are we flying tonight and I have no answers.

FWIW I got my orders right before fields opened last night. Strangely, I was able to comprehend a 2 sector CAP mission and pass along that info to my squad (who also didn't know what we were doing before we got there) in only a few seconds. Heck, yaknow we're flying something German, it wouldn't be a bomber and we'd be Bish. Complex info to digest for some I guess.

Bob I don't know what's up with you. You gave me hell a few weeks back about the orders and continued to go off even after I explained to you that the error in communication was your own. (for those not tuned in at that time Bob's squad, relatively new to FSO, goes by three different names which made ID on the email list a bit problematic--so I missed them. The horror.) This week you had days of notice from JB42 that there was an obvious problem and continue to go off on people. Dude you need to chill. Its a game. People out in the real world have lives and real priorities. Itshay happens and this stuff in all honesty can get bumped down that list and its quite understandable to me as I live in that world too.

Have you ever been a frame CO in any event ever? You haven't have you? So when your squad's turn comes around (that's right bro--we take turns) and its your first time to command a frame it'll be your big oppurtunity to back up all this smack. I'll be waiting.

i dont see why a simple squad name change can create such havoc.. for three weeks straight...?!?!? I dont know what kind of organization you all have but its very unacceptable!!  Yes it doesnt take long to inform our squad but some members like to fly based on type of mission assigned...   THis coming week we will take the Frame CO roll...  For that point on we'll see what happens.

I don't know why Navajo and BBQ and their squad have such lousy luck in getting the orders, but you guys certainly can't blame them for being frustrated. No doubt JB42 was trying to get them out on time when he encountered problems with the server, but this is far from the first time their squad has had to ask for orders.

Since nothing further can be gained by expressing two cents or otherwise I suggest you all drop it and move on.

Might I suggest this....
I was the Allied CO for the 2nd frame and pulled the name of all the squad CO's and XO's for the Allied side. I placed the names in my Outllok Express address book and created a seperate Group I called Allied Command.
When I completed my Orders I created an email and was able to place the Allied Command group as the recipient.

The only Allied group I know of which didn't receive orders was the 412th. Intalking with Midnight we deduced the problem was due to a Spam filter. Might this be the problem on these gents system perhaps? Could they have blocked the email or even created a rule in outlook which filters the email?

Ok Guys I have  a fix. How about we start a sticky in the top of the Squad Ops forum for all squads in FSO to post there CO and XO emails .where if any time the server goes down we can pull then from there.

What do you think guys ?

This has been brought up a couple of times before. Several C.O.'s and X.O.'s did not want their e-mails listed because of SPAM. Can't blame them really.

Mystical Force?  There was a fire at the HTC servers. The database for Squad Operations was unaccessable until Wednsday night (past my bedtime might I add). I received an email for Daddog trying to get me the right addresses so orders could go out. As it happens, some of those email addresses were in correct. Once I saw the postings on the BBS, I went back to the webpage (when finally it was up and running) and tried to get orders out to those who posted they didn't get them.
