Title: Con trails
Post by: T1loady on May 10, 2005, 09:44:26 PM: Hey HT or Skuzzy, how are would it be to code in contrails on the wingtips during positve G turns. This maybe a video programing issue or maybe even more eye candy to slow down machines, but I think it would be kind of cool. I saw a F4 flying today in Va and it was doing some pretty nive turns a rolls, and it was kicking out some pretty cool wingtip son trails... Thanks for the reply..

They have this already. I've seen it close up. Usually during high speeds and high Gs, and you have to be close (so if you're at 600+ you might miss it).

But it's there. Surprised me when I saw it, then I thought "Sweet!!!" and kept on flying.

I can't remembe the plane.. it was something moving fast and pulling hard Gs to get out of a dive (I wasn't pulling so many Gs, I shot it down not long after it started going up).

But I definitely dropped my jaw at the contrails!

And I don't even have my graphics up that high!

I can't remember the plane. It was doing a very steep near-vertical dive on a target, knew it was going to miss and pulled up hard. That's all I can offer if you want to re-create it. I was about 300d when I saw these trails, and they were small at that distance.

I saw Elvis once, he was just getting out of a UFO...but that's another story lol.

HITECH if they got contrails modeled in! Game is looking great overall!

Sure you weren't seeing a fuel leak?

'cept spitVs don't have 'em. And read what I said, wing TIPS, not middle of wings. They totally looked like the contrails in that famous f4u photo.

An F-4U Corsair? Or an F-4 Phantom? If if was a Phantom then you most likely were seeing fuel vapor escaping from the vents on the backside of the wings. The vents are very close to the wingtips.
