Can anyone tell me if this is a prescott , williamette, or Northwood core ????
if its a williamette then i know why this pc wont boot at all .... no post beep, video or anything ..

im pretty sure its a prescott. the northwood was a 130nm proccess, and the wiliamette was a 180nm process if i remember correctly. plus i dont think the willaimette got a whole lot higher that 2.0 or 2.2 ghz.  Ive always been an amd guy so take this for what its worth

i think its a presscott ... and i have a fealing its bad ... no boot at all ..
im not really to jazzed to help this dweeb out anyway .. i made him a killer deal on one of my amd's  .. and he ran out and bought this pent wreck 6 months ago and still never got it to run ..  long story ... with all the ussuall details ... blown up pc ... pile of junk ... missing/stripped  screws . ata 33 cables were there should be 133's ... ect ect the new pent 4 is in the same shape also ... case still looks like a truck ran over it.
Too bad i dont live at Moils end of town I'd hit him up for a cpu test .. (i dont have any pent 4 stuff anymore)

2: its 1024kb L2 cache (and double the L1 cache too)
3: 89.0W :lol

you might need a bios upgrade. :(

was u upgrading the cpu? or is it all new kit? do you know what bios version it has? do you get any beep codes?

its brand new  mb, cpu, ram, vc , and antec 350 ps .
the used parts are the cdrom, floppy , and 80 gig seagate hd .. i tested the ram, vc,hd in a good pc .
I dont have a spare p4 mainboard so i cant test the cpu .
the mb power lite comes on , the cpu fan starts, but no post beeps or video at all . (cant get to the bios screen at all )
i inspected the cpu and checked for bent pins/ improperly mounted heatsink  ect..  along w/ "Floating" the main board in case it was grounded out .
this thing was assembled very poorly /shody , i wouldnt doubt he toasted right at the gitgo ... and now he expects me to work wonders with it.
guess ill tell him to rma the mb, cpu and try to get him to bring them to me new in the boxes untouched ... ( i work static free and i always handle the parts correctly )

try turning it on without any ram pluged in and see if it beeps then. the MB should throw up a few beeps then at least.
