I'm not into some of the things they do either BUT to sit around on this message board whining about them and picking on them... doesn't anyone see this as a touch ridiculous? I'll agree that some of them are kids but only on the website. Unfortuately, those are the ones you are most likely to come in contact with and they have a hard time explaining what they are thinking (perhaps because some of them are only signed up because it's the popular thing to do right now or something else equally annoying).

I've come across several PETA members over the years.
It has been my experience that the adults come off exactly the same way as the kids. I have no ethical problem whatsoever picking on PETA members of any age.
They have no problems trying to indoctrinate our kids to their cause, Therefore I have no problems indoctrinating their kids to mine
My Anti PETA campaign started long ago when I found myself in a discussion with two PETA members of about 30 years old over fishing.
they were trying to lecture me about it being cruel and painful to the fish. I'd finally had enough when they were emphasizing that not only was it cruel and painful to the fish, but also to the WORMS I was using!
I decided right then and there that these people must be tormented,tortured,ridiculed and picked on at every opportunity.
They are radicals and must be stopped using any means, fair or unfair short of violence.
After all that is what PETA itself does to further its cause. Problem is there arent many willing to stand up and attack back until they are attacked themselves out of political correctness
I have no such weakness.
And as anyone who personally knows me would attest.
The one thing I dont do, is subscribe to political correctness.
IF it were just about unnecessary cruelty to animals that would be one thing. But we already have an organization for that called the ASPCA.
But these people are against the use of animals for ANY reason From food, to medical research, to even having them as pets.

They are also known to support and provide funding for terrorist like organizations such as North American Earth Liberation Front.
ELF has been called "the largest and most active U.S.-based terrorist group" by the FBI, and along with its sister group the Animal Liberation Front which commits arson, sets off time bombs and incendiary devices, destroys research facilities, etc.

Just recently an animal rights group broke into a scientists wifes car,stole her credit cards,charged 20,000$ to them and donated the monies to charities.Then they threatend bodily harm if the monies were taken back from said charities.All annonomously of course.PETA is much the same but not quite so criminal.Just a pain in the ass.

My whole reason for picking on them is that they pick on NORMAL people all the time...and no one says anything about it...They are a shady group with a propaganda machine that rivals the USSR's..they donate money to domestic terrorist groups and legal funds to help domestic terrorists who get caught in the act. Their own vice-president advocates violence and property destruction..If they would stick to more ETHICAL ways of doing business, then they would not bother me at all. Thay are starting to become a powerful force politacally. They have made large corperations bend to their will. I applaud KFC for more or less ignoring them for the time being, though I know they will soon cave in too. They must be stopped or made to at least look like the tulips they really are.

I agree w/ Dred ... Peta and the other extreame animal /vegi groups are terrorists to our society .. I have no problem telling them what i think of there distructive /brain washing ways .
AE; tossing paint on a 10k fur coat ... throwing blood on kfc customers... spraypainting and other destructive things they have done and will keep doing . ... the list goes on ..

Do you have any actual references to this or is this another "I heard it from" story? I'd like to look into this further. I'd love to read that story.

Where is the line? If they were to just sit quietly and wait for people to come to them then they would never be heard. The reason they have such political power right now is because they made such a huge stink. It is not okay to think that we're better than animals because we have a sense of self. We didn't choose to evolve into this, it just happened. If we were really so great we wouldn't need to torture defensless animals. As for the Ingrid Newkirk quote, she can't really say that she's only against some testing and not others, then everyone from ar groups would attack her.
I agree that sometimes they get too out of control but they have good intentions.
They are not against having them as pets, they call them "companions" instead. They just don't like the word "pet".... they compare it to "slave".
I think a lot of this is selective reading. You can't just hear one side of a story and declair that as truth because it's more convienient. Yes, the radicals get out of control sometimes but unfortunately, that is what a lot of people hear about those groups so they assume all of them are equally radical.
I guess I'm getting a little off topic but I'm just trying to balance this board a little.

The problem with groups like PETA and their terrorist underground groups like the ELF/ALF is their all or nothing stance and the way they go about doing things. Here where their HQ is located, the public gets to see them all the time. They aren't out there just trying to sway your opinion with speeches and flyers. They are downright rude and quite crass at times. Instead of explaining their views, they down the people who patronize establishments they don't agree with.
