Offline I do a lot of low level flying and barnstorming. I have long perfected the ability to fly through hangars level, but still have to work some more on inverted.
This shot is dedicated to Citabria and any other P-38 jocks out there. I am more of a Mustang or Corsair man myself (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) But Lightnings sure are cool too (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Lot's of fun, ain't it? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) One day while vulching a field in my trusty '38 prior to troop arrival, bombers were trying to launch from the hangar, so I lined up and and popped one just as I entered the hangar, good thing he exploded and dissappeared, or I wouldn't of made it though! Only had the opportunity once, have tried other times but never get lined up in time to do it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

lol Tshred. I did that once in a 38 also (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I havent done it in any other plane yet. But that one time sure brought a smile to my face when the bomber blew just as I came out the other side of the hangar.

I've gotten a few maneuver kills by ducking through the hangers while vulching a field and a bandit arrived from another field while in the 38 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Not doing a show off contest here but :
The hard way, landing gear extended to oblige a 15,000 pound slow flight. The image have been inverted to put it "upside down".

way to go on the inverted pass... I lose control of my sink rate while lining up and my canopy hits the ground almost every time (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
-
Don't worry, anybody can do it with some training. You will master it very soon.
How about before the end of the week you post the same picture for us? P47, inverted, landing gear extended.
-
Actually, I am still working on doing the P-38 inverted at WEP gear up (the same conditions I use when level). One question though, is it just me, or is the hangar in your pic huge compared to the ones I am squeezing the P-38 through?
-
It was a bomber hangar.

wtg AKDejaVu.
I almost have my tight squeeze perfected inverted... I now trim for inverted flight with rock solid stability, but I am still having trouble judging distance to the ground.
I am so close to succeeding. I am lined up to pass through both hangars, but when I try to get low enough to make it through, I either hit the ground or I impact just above the door opening.
Kind of like Star Wars: "...negative, negative! just impacted on the surface!"
-
Do that thru a VH and I'll be impressed.
-
You are getting there, I feel it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Using the F4 is a good idea, you are not limited to 180 IAS when landing gears are extended. You right too, trim is very important to help flying stable inverted.
Hey I noticed the F6 is so hi that it cannot roll bellow a VH.

HA! The 13th TAS has you all beat!
Thunder can fly inverted through 2 hangers in one pass.
A little while back some of us got together in the TA and had races from base to base, 3K max alt (had to fly the canyons) and had to pass through hangers at each field.
That was fun. Sure you can fly through a hanger when you got all day to line up... try it when the pressure is on and a virtual gold medal is at stake; (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Woo hoo! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) So can I, Thunder :P Finally, both hangars in one pass inverted at high speed just above the ground. But I am not centered as well as I would have liked.
