Title: Windows Media Player Anomaly:
Post by: eskimo2 on May 14, 2005, 07:12:00 AM
My WMP plays both sound and video on websites where WMP is imbedded in the web page.  When it opens by itself however, I get video only.  If I open a WMP file on my hard drive, same deal: video only, no sound.  Wav files also produce no sound; I see the little sound bars dancing, so it thinks its processing sound, but none comes out.  I reinstalled WMP, I’ve re-booted.  I’ve checked the WMP online help page (like all Windows product help pages and files, it sucks).  My sound works fine; real player works fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

eskimo

Get mediaplayer classic. WMP sucks.
