Title: Frame 3 Hunter Killer results
Post by: daddog on May 14, 2005, 05:41:29 PM
Gents the following took place on May 13th in Frame 3 for the Friday night Squad Operations with about 215 pilots attending. 115 Axis pilots and 102 Allied pilots.

Allied pilots shot down and destroyed:
3 – Me262’s  – 60 points
30 – Fw190D – 300 points
17 – Me109G10 – 170 points
3 – Ta152 – 30 points
19 – Fw190F8 – 190 points

Luftwaffe Flak Factory 0% down – 0 points
Luftwaffe City 99% down – 198 points
Luftwaffe Fuel Factory – 100% down – 200 points
Defending points - 200
Total Allied Points 1348 points

Axis pilots shot down and defended:
10 – Spit IVX – 100 points
4 – Tempests – 40 points
27 – P51 – 270 points
10 – P38 – 150 points
3– P47 - 30 points
2 – A20 – 30 points
11 – M8 – 66 points
A68 0% down – 0 points
Defending points 202
Total Axis Points 888 points

Allies lost 57 aircraft, the Axis lost 72 aircraft, again a surprise to me since the Allies are having to go in heavy and attack despite having fewer pilots. Frame 3 went to the Allies.

Ace Fighter Pilots
Redge – 7 kills
SkyChimp – 6 kills
RHINO – 5 kills

Top Bomber/Jabo Pilots
left00t – 39 objects
Nomde – 32 objects
buster – 18 objects
Pepper – 14 objects
Spaatz – 13 objects
Rotax447 – 11 objects
Vlkyrie1 – 10 objects

I made some change to the event stemming from the comments others made after frame 2. Next time we run this the Axis pilots will have up to 20 Me-262’s in a frame and the losses would not be carried over. On the flip side the Allies will be limited to 20 Temp’s per frame and will have to use all 6 of the aircraft listed. I would hope this would help balance the event next time someone was to run it. I also made note that the M8’s would have to greatly out number the Panzers to have any hope. I saw that not a single Panzer was destroyed. Maybe by then we will have a Sherman or some other Allied tank to counter the Panzer with. The M8’s are totally out classed. My apologizes to the M8 drivers.

As always, any errors please post or e-mail me.

Why not use the T34?

Only because I hate using substitutes, but that would probably be best if we were to use GV's again.

Daddog,

The following may or may not help in planning this event again.

In preparing the Allied orders for the final frame, I took into account some of the sensititives expressed by the Axis in previous frames.

 1. All aircraft were used
 2. I planned on approximately 20 of each of the perked planes.  At T=0 we actually launched 19 Spit XIVs and 13 Tempest Vs.  Of the 19 second lifers in the frame who were entitled to a plane of choice, 8 launched Tempests and 3 launched Spits within T+60.
3. The largest precentage of aircraft used at T+0 were the P51's, aproximately 31%.

From a quick scan of the logs, an interesting note is that in Frame 3 the ME262's scored 3 kills, and in the prior 2 frames 6 kills, of which all but one were A20's in the first frame.
