Title: 5.4 catalyst and video settings
Post by: Noir on May 15, 2005, 07:21:54 AM
Hello everyone,

I've resintalled my PC cause I bought an installed 2x80gb/sata/raid1, I run Win2003 SP1 as I was before, and it was working well. I updated my catalysts to the 5.4 version (9600SE).

I reinstalled AH2 and when I launch it, I can't select a resolution of playin in the video settings window, there are no resolutions listed in it, but it recognises my video card......very weird.....any idea ? I pay without being able to play....

with that card you want driver version 4.12 and don't install Cat. control panel

OK thank you for the tip, but the problem wasn't there :D

I installed the 4.12 without the control panel, same problem, then I launched dxdiag wich told me Direct3D was unavailable with material acceleration at the max in the display controls  . Then I remembered that win2003 tends to disable directdraw and direct3D ! I installed the 5.4 back, launched dxdiag, and this time I could activate direct3D....

What a dummie I make :D

I would still use the 4.12 drivers and no Cat control panel (Skuzzy words) for best performance!!
