I wish someone would do some of those Iwo Jima based birds.  This one was with the 457th FS, 506th FG flying the VLR missions to Japan.

I'd love to try and recreate one of those someday.  Probably the toughest single engined fighter mission of the war.

Image of that same bird from a different angle and a profile I'd done of it a while back.
