I'd hardly call it a "hit". It's getting pretty lousy reviews by the critics, and you know they just love a good liberal. maybe they're p.o.'d at her because she got religion. They hate that stuff, ya know.

The media played the ball home like it or not. A highly controversial event from 30 years back was brought to world wide news for no other reason but to buff her new movie. Resulting with people arguing in numerous places about the news, including AH BBs. Maximum publicity.
So it works.

her character in the movie seems far too close to my mother.
i shall avoid it for much the same reason.
(though i love her as a son should love his mother...she is a bit neurotic these days.)
this week she's in to zen buddism.
