I just figured I'd post to say its happened to me a few times in the past week. I wish I could offer a film when it happens but I do not.
A few of my Squaddies have seen this happening again.
Anything we can do to help you guys debug it? The .resetv items have never worked for me. I've always had to log out and log in again to get it back
-
Noticed the same recently.
Luckily for me the .resetv commands work - up to a point.
After a few times using it and inputting the command I get a 4-5 sec screen freeze and no vox return. Then it's time to relog.

On a related note, Kev....
Nice shootdown of me :) I'd let Windows to the Update thing and didnt reboot. Just when you were attacking me, Aces High got minimized and Windows asked if I wanted to restart. Aiiieee!
Do let me know if I died well. All I saw was the tower when I managed to alt-tab back!
-
Lol, don't even remember when it was.
I'm sure you'll get some payback sometime .
If it makes you feel better - Was saddled up on P38 yesterday when Norton Live Update kicked in, got back in time to see my wings tear off as I was lawn javellining to the ground.

I have NEVER EVER lost VOX. I really wonder why some lose it so often.
I run on board sound with an AMD64 computer I built last year. I wonder... is it Audio cards and their software causing problems?
I had about 50 discos last tour and found out that the latest NVIDIA video drivers cause serious problems for my computer and AHII. Reverted to old drivers and almost no discos.
So I believe it is something, hardware or software that many of you have, and I do not. The key is figureing out what it is.
I will post my system specs today when I get home.

before, i only lost vox when having the person's cpid stuck on the top right and i don't remember that it was range vox. This is alleviated by using alt-tab to minimize AH then bring it back up again. (although I dont like doing that because the graphics turn grainy and I do lose frame rate after alt-tab). Resetv command never worked to alleviate this for me.
Now, I lose vox without getting the cpid stuck on the top right. Although I cannot say for sure, this seems to get alleviated by using range vox. Again resetv command does not work.
I use Soundblaster LiveWare for WinME (from http://www.creativelabs.com) and Radeon 9500 PRO running on Omega drivers for WinME.

So there is one person having problems with Soundblaster. How about the rest of you..what cards - software version?
My onboard sound is with a K8T Neo made by MSI with via chipset. NO VOX loss.
Guys with audio problems...have you tried using just on-board sound to see if that will solve problem?

Audigy 2 ZS, the platinum one with the front face plate.
Windows Media Center, never lose vox.
Oh yeah, and the latest ATI drivers, and just the stock drivers that came on the CD for my soundcard. Motherboard Asus A78something something.

I kinda figure that losing vox is a normal part of flying Aces High.
It seems to happen more in AH2. I figure that if I have vox working it is a plus, if not I just have to quit the game and restart it. This .resetv 1 or 2 or 3 doesn't seem to do anything. I have never tried the Alt Tab, it is worth a shot.
I know that a lot of people have the same trouble with vox that I do.
Once and a while we get a bunch of warping that goes on when the server goes whacko. Last Friday being an example. Vox is just another anoyance, I doubt if it will get fixed.
I just fly and try to enjoy the game as it is :)
