I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that most folks don't drink the same thing in a bar (in public) that they drink at home... seems to be some kinda stigma regarding 'branding'.
So come on.. fess up.. whaddya drink when yer out? And do ya drink the same brand at home?
-
depends where I am at,
bars in CA...
Henry Weinhardt
bars in CO...
Fat Tire, Easy Street, or Avalanche
bars in the North East....
Magic Hat's #9, or Long Trail
bars in Texas....
any micro brew
bars in Lakes areas...
Linney's of course
at Home
Two cases of Blue Paddle on Ice...

It's hard finding that generic stuff that comes in a white can with BEER stenciled on the side when I'm out at bars.
Actually, haven't been able to drink beer since surgery. But I HAVE started enjoying blended margaritas.
ok, fine. I like froo-froo drinks. There. I said it. I also drink Daquiris and things with umbrellas in them.
-
Just about any Micro-brew or local beer..other than that..Corona with Lime

If drinking beer in a bar (which I normally DON'T do) Heinekin, St. Pauli Girl, or Warsteiner. I normally prefer to order Glenlivit or Crown Royal Special Reserve.
-
About the only bar I go to anymore is the Brickskeller in DC. I just pick something nearly at random.

Shiner Bock. Nothing but since 1990.
Brewed with a 'tude.
-
Pretty much drink the same stuff at home as when I'm out.
Guinness.
Though it is hard to get a decent pint where I live so I have been known to branch out into other beers, like Harp, Bass, Anchor Steam (brewed down the road in San Francisco). Again it's pretty much the same fair in my fridge right now.
-
Guinness, Harp, Beck's Dark, or Newcastle.

A lotta brit beer drinkers... ever try this?
-
Depends on my mood. I usually keep Little Kings and Bud at home. When I go out, Rolling Rock (only because they dont have the Little Kings in the bar usually).
-
i drink mainly the same thing at home and pubs, only local brews - Rothaus & Waldhaus.
If i'm further away from home i like to taste beers i never tasted before,
ie. not the same brands you can get everywhere on earth.
-
What ever is the cheapest. They are all the same here anyways, and they all have the same alcohol concentration.
-
At home i drink Hansa Premium or Heineken.
When in a bar I drink Heineken or whatever they serve from the tap.
-
I drink this...

Yeah, I had one pint of that in January. Quite interesting.. but good. :)
At home I usually drink one of the Finnish lagers (like Lapin kulta, or whatever is cheapest). In a bar I usually have something else like Kilkenny, Guinness, Newcastle, Warsteiner...
-
beer taste like old puke, I drink moonshine instead.
Jadda Nilsen, jeg er Hedemarking hehe.
-
When I can find it here.. Warstiner Pilsner. A German beer IMO.
Killians Red would be my second..

I don't usually make a mock of US beers, even though they are quite watery for my taste. Bud Lite for example is great for getting drunk because of it's drinkability. The only beer I found undrinkable was Miller Lite. I bought a 12-pack and threw it away eventually because I simply couldn't drink it, it tasted like it was opened last week. Was my 12-pack defective or is it supposed to be that way?

Out: Stowford Press cider (no not the Yank cider that isn't really cider but merely apple juice. I mean proper cider. 6% vol cider).
In: Nuthin mate, I smoke instead.

Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale, or simply "Keith's". I don't drink at home.
-
when i'm at home i usually have Miller High Life Lite in the house somewhere.
when i'm out (which is rare) Grey Goose and soda, or Bacardi Limon and diet
-
Depends how far from home....
In Germany it's Miasles HefeWeissen..words alone cannot describe its flavor.
In Korea it's Crown Beer and Soju.
In the US sometimes a Miller Lite or Newcastle but mainly red wine and vodka.

Why is everyone drinking lite this and lite that? Because it's healthier, or because it gives a better buzz?
-
Bar? Whatever's on tap. Sierra Nevada, Anchor Steam, Chimay, Pilsner Urquell, Sam Adams. Even Bud and Coors are acceptable from a fresh keg.
Home? Local stuff. Sierra Nevada, Anchor Steam, Sudwerk, Gordon Biersch. I like lagers and pale ales.
I love the Spaten Premium mini-kegs.
If I want to get drunk I drink vodka.
-
What, no Pabst Blue Ribbon? No Samuel Jackson? No Hamms? Not even ONE Schlitz fan?
You guys all gay or what?
Ta think; a freakin 16oz cold brown bottle 'a Budweiser didn't even make the first CUT?
Lord.. it's like dodgeball.. they took dodgeball outta the schools. Jezus Cripes on roller skates, we're raising a nation of limp wristed gay beer & coffee press swillin puzzies, I tell yah!
My gawd, drink a MeisterBrau and think about being MEN!

never aquired a taste for canadian beer, even during the highschool peer pressure days. i can understand having the odd draft from tap with wings or a good sandwich, but drinking 5-8 beers just for the hell of it, never understood that.
don't drink much but when i do it's crown royal or smirnoff koolers.
-
Well since I'm Down under
Coopers Sparkling or Pale Ale (found in most decent pubs in Syndey now)
When I can get them:
Little Creatures (IPA or Amber)
Scharer's Lager
Bottle to take to a Party/BBQ
Pilsner Urquel
-
Tequilla is the only thing to drink at the bar, it makes the ladies come running to ya, Well to be more accurate it just makes more of the woman acceptable in the bar so you increase your chances or meeting someone.
-
I don't drink to impress anyone. I drink Bud Light at home, at parties, at bars, and at restraunts. The only time I drink anything but Bud Light is when I go to a local German place called the Gerst Haus. There I drink one of their house brews, which one depends on my mood and what I'm eating. My Dad's father came over from Germany right around the turn of the century (I can trace relatives back enough to find I am distantly related to Richtoffen, too bad I got none of his skill and talent), so I like German food, and German beer.
To me, the "designer beers" and "micro brews" are nothing special.
If I'm not drinking real German beer or Bud Light, I drink Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, or moonshine.
-
Don't drink anymore.
Never liked Beer.
Drank Smirnoff Ice when I did have a Beer like drink.
Most of the time it was Cuervo straight or Margarittas.
-
'when drinking to get some' I stay sober, and I feed all the drinks to my date.

If you have a keg cooler at home, going to a bar is academic. When I went to the bar (back in the day) I drank Budweiser tallboys almost exclusively during dollar beer night.
A pretty good draft beer is Busch. Dunno why but Miller draft seemed to have a flatness to it. (Didn't stop anyone from drinking it though.) Budweiser, Michelob and Busch come in Johnston type kegs. That is, you have to have the Johnston style tap for those kegs. I think Killian's Red and Heineken come in Johnston kegs also, but haven't had those in kegs due to expense.
Not sure but think the other style tap is called a Lansky tap (with the two tubes that extend down). Been a while since I dealt with beer taps. Might have 'em mixed up.
A keg holds 15.5 gallons, which can be drinkable up to about three weeks under CO2 pressure. Can't remember exactly how many kegs we put through the cooler during a three or four year time period. Think it was around 76 kegs.
I used to drink a lot of draft beer. It ain't popular in bars because it's not really all that sanitary and can make you sick. Not the beer but the beer tap, hose and spigot can get dirty. I've just about got to the point where the only thing I'll drink in a bar these days is a Coke. Don't like to drink in public anymore. I enjoy a good sippin whisky at home sometimes. Red wine is good. Been cultivating a taste for Pabst Blue Ribbon beer (bottles) as a standby. Figured if I was gonna drink something as bad tasting as beer, might as well go with a classic.

Trappiste Rochefort
After a 20 year research I've still not found a better beer.

Hang we're not all like you. Not everybody has a steel plate in their head and complete loss of ability to taste.
Drinking the **** you mentioned when there is good beer available for the same price is pretty stupid. It's like turning down a $5 Ribeye to eat a coupla Big Macs.

THC just makes me paranoid unless I have some alcohol with it. :)

True. But, why miss a chance fer a good rant?
Still, I like the taste of a frosty cold bottle of Budweiser on a hot muggy day... color me prehistoric; clueless & classless; but the last $5.00 ribeye I tried cost me a coupla teeth. ;)

Your da man. Combining the two takes some sk1lz. At least that's what I've heard...:)

What do I drink when I'm out? Whatever I want.
Boots may be optional at Hills and Dales, but cowboys, bikers and beer aficionados can all drink comfortably here. The sign above the roadhouse declares it is the "Center of the Universe." A stand-up bar with 50 taps behind it is at one end, pool tables and a small stage are at the other. Beer neons are everywhere. Coolers holding 400 to 500 different beers dominate the wall opposite the entrance. The house rule is that customers grab what they want from the cooler, then pay at the bar.
If you go there, make sure to have 'em pull you a glass of Live Oak hefeweisen if it's in season.
I grab and go. I never drink if I've got to drive home.
-
Is that from the Live Oak brewery in Austin? They make some really good beers there.
