How do you find out who actually owns a particular name, especially if their is no site up under the name.

go to godaddy.com or any other dns name provider and do a lookup.

network solutions (http://www.networksolutions.com)

go to the thing that says WHOIS and punch in their domain name.

Networks Solutions is the devil. GoDaddy is the cheapest I've found.
