Title: Ultra portable laptops.
Post by: Sparks on May 21, 2005, 01:20:50 PM
I need to trade in my Vaio because it's just too damn heavy.  I carry my laptop around with me all day and often with a tool box so I'm looking for light - very light.  Machine doesn't need to be mega powerful but it needs to be able to run all of Office Professional easily including Visio and Powerpoint.  Prefer to have a DVD writer.

So far I'm down to the Sony Vaio T series, or an Acer 3002, or maybe even a 12" Mac G4.
The SOny has it on features, the Acer has it on price but the DVD is external and the Mac is just nice and not too bad a price.

Has anyone any experience with Ultra portables?? recommendations.

Im looking for a new laptop.  I like the ruggedness of the IBMs but Ive also been eyeing stuff that can handle games from time to time.

Some of the HPs look good...but heavy.
