I seem to be getting alot more pilot wounds. Anyone else notice this. It's only occurred in this terrian.
Also those bloody LA7's seem indistructable at times. My Vsync is on by default.

The pilot wound thing I havent noticed a rise in.
But La7s do seem much tougher. Even with I'm flying them I find myself taking many hits until I'm ded.

yeah la7's i often have to hit with more than 1 30mm...usually if not the only damage is the oil hit for some reason

Now that I think about it. They were made of mostly wood, fabric and glue. And were known to take a good amount of damage.

I got peppered in a 38G from a c202 (not a 205) on my outboard port wing, and the only damage I got was a PW. Yeah, something's up.

As soon as the 38J showed up, that became my ride, as it was the first true historical ride available in AH (other then the jug40) that was flown by the real 367th,
but get me a towel and turnicate please...

LOL, nothing like the pilot wound frequency in the P-38 huh?

Yup not just P38s.
Had pilot wounds form dead six at 1000yrds!!!!.
That means a round travelled 1000yrds, entered the fuselage, went through the armoured seat and hit the pilot,,,,SURE, bet it happened all the time.
I've actually kill eda P38 from directly underneath coming up vertical on his belly at 1000yrds. Which means a similar explanation to the above scenario.

Actually at a 1000 yards, I would have to imagine it had a high angle, in order to get rounds out a 1000 yards you have aim quite high, meaning the round has a substantial "down" angle upon impacting your bird.
In the service, we use to practice firing machine guns in this manner in order to provide either defilade firing positionfor the Machine guns (we couldnt even see the target cuz we were firing from behind a hill).
People on these threads seem to assume a round is fired straight out to a point and then fall down from that point. A round fired actually crosses you line of site twice once on the way up and once on the way down.

OK Balsy fair enough explanation for the dead six shot, not impossible, but happens far to regularly to be a coincidence.
Doesn't explain the near vertical shot into the belly of a P38 at 1000yrds and getting a pilot kill. If it helps I set my Tiffy convergence to 325yds inner/300yrds outer.

i can deal w/a pilot wound.and flying the 38 it happens alot which doesnt bother me either..its the dang blackout sequence. you can count on a blackout every time u line up scope and are close to landing.in the absolute worst possible times you get lights out.it should be random.

I would like to see the feature of "Pilot Emotional Wound" with a box of Kleenex or the German equivalent in the 'pit.
