My wife brought some home the other day. Have to say I rather like it. Rich, creamy, with a slight taste of chocolate.
-
Always up for trying a new beer. Added to the list.
-
mmmmm I'll keep my eyes open for this, thanks!
Oh, and if I can't find this up here in Dallas, where did you find it in Houston? I can grab some next time I visit the inlaws...
-
1st you came up with Strawbery flavoured coffee... now this. *sigh*
Excuse me, but I'll be outside with my "Armageddon" sign.

Great! Thank you sir!

Heilinger, Centennial carries it. Stop by the Addison store (Inwood & Beltline) and ask for Gary, the store's Manager. Tell him that Mike sent you. I used to be Asst. Mgr. there and they have one of the largest selections of imports in Dallas.
Oh yeah, tell him I'm in the grocery biz now. He should get a laugh out of that.

Thanks RPM, I will keep that in mind if I can't find it anywhere else. That is a little further south then I usually travel, but if I need to, I can make a special trip. I'll make sure to mention your name as well.
Thanks!
-
There's a couple Centennial's in The Colony that may be closer to you. Both of them should have it.

It's brewed in England. Felt like I needed to say that.
-
Teh only proper fruit beer! (http://www.beerliquors.com/buy/beer/Lindemans_Kriek_Cherry_Lambic_Beer.htm)
-
Saintaw - I love those fruit beers! But I expect you get homesick, living in Lux. I'll send you some Kronenbourg to make you feel at home. ;)
-
I think Kronembourg is french, isn't it? (*gag*/*SLAP*)
Plenty of beers around here Beet, the local ones are not my taste (Bofferding, Dikiersh, Super Bock)... but anywhere you are in Luxemboug, you're always 20 minutes away from Belgium, Germany or France. (Doing a city tour will take you aproximately 20 minutes as well).
I'm not a white-wine drinker, but I did have the opportunity to taste the local "ice-wine" (I think they pick the grapes when the soil is frozen) ... wow!
When are you comming back on the continent? Will gladly share a few with you :)
-
I was waiting to hear from Schaden. A few of us were going to head to Antwerp on the Eurostar.
DiabloTX - if you liked the Young's double chocolate stout, also look out for a beer called Fuller's London Porter. It's also a stout, but not as rich as the Young's. I prefer the Fuller's.
-
I'm planning a trip to Amsterdam with the Swoop... but I guess that doesn't sound as catchy to you :)
Let me know if you're going to Antwerp, haven't been there in a while... best wimin fishin' spot in the country :aok

Do a little research before you blame this on those of us on this side of the pond Sawito. This one is made by the limeys. And its a very good stout.
By the way, Heiliger and DiabloTX....you can get it at the Flying Saucer on tap. Mmmmmmm....
-
Sling san, sorry for "jumping the gun" but I had only one "Starbucks" experience in my life... and took it for granted that it was yours again.
My sincere apologies... I guess I will have to post bruise shots to make up for that one...
-
Is it really flavored with chocolate? Or is it just made from chocolate malts?

Will do, thanks for the heads up.
Sling, the Saucer is a bit far from my hacienda. But if they have it on tap it will be worth it!!
-
The best stout Evar!!!!!!!
... well next to Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout.

Yeah...its a bit of a haul for me too. What side of town you live on anyway? I am out on the NW side....290 and West/Eldridge. I like to run up to BJs at Willowbrook and drink their stout. As a member of one of the local homebrew clubs, I get happy hour prices all the time there on BJs brewed beers when I show my membership card. Pretty sweet deal. Plus as a member of the AHA (American Homebrewers Assoc) I get 10% off all food and merchandise when I show that card.
:D
Never cared much for Samuel Smith's stuff. Every time I buy it anywhere local it is skunked. They should export it in brown bottles rather than clear glass.
-
You can also get Samuel Smith's at Centennial in Dallas. As much as I hate the greedy, snotty, stuck up corporate bastages... they have a great selection of brews and wines.
-

Clear Lake area, a couple miles from Johnson Space Center.
-
Well then you have a BJs out close to you also. On Bay Area Blvd next to Jasons Deli just east of 45 a couple of stop lights.
-
Young's is good. :)
Have you tried the Belhaven Scottish Ales yet?
-
Got the remnants of a 6 pack in my beer fridge in the garage right now. Also got the remnants of a 5 gallon batch of Scottish ale in a keg in the same fridge. I used a clone recipe for Belhavens that I found in a book....its not exactly the same but its pretty damn close.
On a different note, my garage beer storage capacity is going to grow exponentially this weekend. I am swapping my 16 cu. ft. upright freezer for a chest freezer that my parents are trading to me and am also picking up a side by side fridge/freezer from a buddy of mine for free. Couple of quick modifications to both and my keg storage space triples. :D
