Title: Programs and bloatware, Acrobat Reader.
Post by: fuzeman on May 24, 2005, 11:16:32 AM
I know some programs that used to be 'slim' now contain all sorts of bloatware, addware, etc that basically makes them useless or a pain to use.
I need to use Adobe Acrobat Reader and was wondering if this has happend to it? Is there a 'better' version to use or any versions to stay away from? Thaks for yoiur time.

New version 7 is said to be much better than previous. Said to no longer load up drivers for all possible combinations of input devices at computer startup.
Version 7 certainly starts up and runs faster.

Hmmm... I wonder. IIRC, Reader 2.0 was a fraction of the size of Reader 7.0.

Bloatware...
