So what's your opinion do you think the PC can compete with the new generation gaming consoles? And what about the game developers will they drop PC titles in favour of the more lucrative console market?

Pc games will always be around until consoles wise up and make games that can be played by more than a gamepad. If they had an input for a W A S D + mouse view for FPS, or a place to plug in joysticks, or just a keyboard for complex games like age of empires or something like that that require complex inputs...........
AH2 would run great on X-box 360.........imagine, everyone has same config with broadband................ No conflicts with this soundcard, and that video card..............

I just cant use those controllers on the consoles. My hands are wired wrong or something
It took all my willpower to manage to get thru Goldeneye on N64 LOL

Yes but Microsoft would never allow something with the graphics of AH2 onto their X-BOX. AH2 is a very very small market in the gaming world that appeals to a group off enthusiasts.
Sims in general might struggle as developers and publishers push for the higher profit console action titles.

It's a cycle Gixer. The next gen game consoles are always a step ahead of PCs when they are released. But unlike PCs, game consoles aren't updated hardware wise every few months, so by the time the game console's life is over, PCs have caught up and surpassed the game console until the next gen game console comes out.
So will consoles ever over take the PC in turns as being the best gaming platform? No, because the PC's versatility and the ability to expand and upgrade will still make it the better platform for gaming.
I've never looked at consoles as a competitor to PCs for gaming, I've always thought they complimented one another quite nicely.
