Title: Ok, I like the song but what's it called?
Post by: flakbait on November 27, 2000, 09:29:00 AM
Ever seen the Madden NFL 2001 commercial? If you have, you most likely know the song I'm after. Classical true, but it sounds great. I raided www.easports.ea.com (http://www.easports.ea.com)  and tried finding a contact link. Unless you're buying something, forget it. Tried Napster's chat rooms with similar luck. Anyone know the title and artist so I can swipe a copy?

Ah, if it's the commercial I'm thinking of, you're probably referring to "Carmina Burana", composed by Carl Orff. You can find recordings of it in almost any good music store. It is used often in commercials and movies, etc.

I recommend this version: http://www.towerrecords.com/product.asp?pfid=1508357 (http://www.towerrecords.com/product.asp?pfid=1508357)   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I think it was also in an earlier sword and sorcery movie-maybe "Excalibur" or "Conan".

It was a movie about King Arthurs court. Dunno if it was the one with Richard Gere as Lancelot or not. Was nicely matched to the scene though.

Definately not Conan. I have the sound track to that movie. Good music to work out to.

You are referring to the "Excalibur". Very nice film, BTW  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).

Yep, 'twas John Boorman's "Excalibur".

Excellent film.
