Interesting show.
I have watched a few others, but find myself being highly anoyed at the comercials.
How the hell do you guys who watch all the time put up with it? TV on DVD Is way better.

once you get it, you'll wonder how you lived without it

I sit.
-
I mute all commercials.

I watch the History Channel and currently play SH3 and AH.
Commercials are annoying...but the programs on TV are just as bad for the most part.

:aok YUP it makes all the difference.
For example I Tivoed the season finale of 24. A 2 hour program. Without commercials it is exactly 42 minutes in legnth.
1. I got to use more efficiently approx 78 minutes of my life
2. I got to watch the program when I wanted not when the network deemed I should.
NOTE: The only thing that sucked was we lost power for the middle 45 minutes of the show. Unless I have a UPS on it TIVO obvisouly doesn't record. I ended up Downloading this show of the intardnet. I felt guilt free for doing it because I did in fact watch (skipp through at high speed) the commercials for the first 15 and last 15 minutes of the show.
-
Wow...
2 hours is really 42 minutes? Thats sad.
-
I think I will stick with buying the few good ones on DVD.
There is not that much I want to watch. Most of it does seem like crap.
-
1 hour episodes of 24 are just under 43 minutes without adverts, the 2 hour final episode is just over 85 minutes for the 2 parts (it's actually 2 1 hour episodes, not a single 2 hour episode)
-
I'd like to know when all these Reality TV shows are going to end and who is responsible. Can't believe anyone watches such crap.

yea Nashwan is correct. My mistake. I didn't realize I had to download two differenct chunks of the 2 hour show.
1 hour = 42 minutes of actual show.
Other programs it gets as worse as 1 hour = 30 min.

Except for 2 channels, all comersials here are between shows. None in sports either.. sports on tv usually have a "sponsored by ......" before and after.
-
i just change channels during commercials and look for something better on.
that's what remotes were designed for.

Maybe its me but channel flipping drives me nuts. Even on the radio... lol.
Holly ****e, Gixer and I agree realality shows are the worst. I wish they would all go the shreck away.

there's very few of them that I enjoy as of late. American Idol being one of the few.

Sorry guys I have a confession to make,
I am one of the many who makes sure all those wonderful commercials run and run on time and in their entirety 98% of the time. I also handle swapping out incorrect spots for various reasons and I also make sure the program you are tunning into as you sit down to eat your meal of choice runs on time. I also had to put up with pissy sales people and producers of said spots because of random stupid crap. Wrong version or contract numbers are a few of the biggest pains but after a few words they usualy realize they are the ones who made the mistake not me.
There are various other things I have to keep track of as well but thats the gist of what I have to deal with.
So at night when I come home the last thing I do is run and turn on the TV. After having to sit and watch all the crappy commercials with no optiion to turn the channel and run a TV station all day on top of that, there just isnt a desire to watch the old tube. I do however turn it on sometimes to fill the dead noise in the house.

I have the DVR now, but I used to have an old TV that had a "commercial skip" button. You pushed the button and it would add 30 seconds to the timer. You could set 2-3 minutes on the timer, then surf to your hearts content. After the time was up the TV switched back to the original station. I loved this feature. Don't know how many times I've channel surfed away from a show and forgot to go back and catch the ending or whatever. This made it idiot proof.

I've never watched 24... does Kiefer take a dump or use the john at all during the whole 24-"hour" season? The average person craps 2-3 lbs each day... that must be uncomfortable.
-
while on the subject of tv...
I just saw the first episode of 4400. Is it worth getting hooked on, or should i stop before?
-
I don't watch TV :P

Reality shows are the TV equivalent of disco.
-
I dont.
I turn the satalite off when the NFL season ends. And get sunday ticket when its on.
-
Apart from the odd news, I don't watch TV. I get it all from the intardnet.
-
Sorry, but this house is a big fan of reality TV, especially Australian Big Brother, Survivor (How good was Palau), and the Amazing Race!! (we're currently watching the one with Rob and Amber from survivor so no bloody spoilers!!! :D).
The wife loves Australian Idol, Average Joe, and the Biggest loser but I could leave them pretty quickly...

Always thought reality TV is a chick thing, but it really is cheap TV for the uneducated masses.

There was only one reality show that I ever got into and that was The Mole. And I instantly lost interest in it when I realized it was rigged.

I have started to buy the DVD's of shows I want to watch but don't have the ability to when they air.
For example I have ordered the 5th season of the Sopranos and the first season of Lost. I also have all the other Soprano seasons as well as shows like Band of Brothers.
I also watched the Amazing race and Survivor live on TV. They were about the only shows I made a point of watching. The commercials bug me but they are a chance to go and get a drink or whatever. I think the networks should run one 15 second ad every few minutes and at least people would see the ads. When they run a block of ads I am sure most people mute them or leave or channel surf. Sucks for the advertisers.
BTW if you go to CBS.com you can see exactly how the amazing race and survivor turned out. They have an episode by episode synapsis.

Oct, this is the second post from you I've seen recently that indicates a keen and healthy interest in "bowel movements". I was thinking that perhaps the other one simply represented an anomalous attempt at humor. Now I'm believing you're sincere. I'm impressed.
Its nice to know I'm not the only one here who realizes the importance of regularity :)
