Hands still shaking from one of those dogfights you live for in this game.
Got bounced by an LA5 and a Hurri IID while out waiting on the mob in my 38G. Things head for the deck in a mad turning fight. I know I'm not going to out turn the Hurri, but I'm holding my own. No one really getting a shot and I'm thankful its a IID not a IIC as he's gotta conserve those cannon shells. Out of the corner of my eye I spot a single good guy in a Jug and ask if he can at least get the Hurri occupied cause I'm enjoying the fight with the LA5 immensely.
The Jug is damaged but in he comes and nicks up the Hurri. I get a couple pings in and the Hurri goes in. The Jug has to head for home though so it's me and the LA5. Round and round we go, no one getting the edge. Speeds from as slow as 57 to roughly 150, hanging on the stall. He gets a ping, but I get a hit as well and see an aileron fly off. We go back and forth just missing. My 38G hangs on the props and gets hits again as he is going over the top, but he doesn't go down. I stall out and fall towards the water but he's doing the same. Again it's up and over and finally I get a killing shot.
It's been over 5 minutes of bending the stick fighting this one guy. My arm is sore and to be honest my hand's shaking a bit. But man what a ride.
All the days I come in and get my backside handed to me are worth it for a fight like that :)

Yep, thats the hook that got us all addicted.
When its good, nothing is better, win or lose. When its bad, when you can't shoot for crap, or your stuck in a slump, the whole world sucks.

Guppy,
I love those fight as well and that is why I stick with AH for sure. I bet the LAV5 prolly logged off cussing though....hehehe. He prolly posting message saying he is leaving AH and closing his account because the modelling on the LAV5 is porked.....lol...j/k
Really though I love to hear about those kind of battles. Makes getting vulched relentlessly laughable.
Warmest Regards,
Higgins

Corky,
You are right, these fights are great. I had one with Sads in the DA the other night. I was in a 109F and he was in a spitV. We went round and round for over five minutes probably. We started over the base but ended up WAY out over the water on the side of a hill. Almost clipped a tree on the bank of the water and that caused me to give up ground and he slipped in behind me. I was trying to scissor him loose and almost did it before he landed a snapshot that killed my engine.
That really kept it alive for me because lately I've been getting a little bored. Now I can't wait to go up and hopefully run into a few more great fights.

Yep, that story reminds me of a fight a had once in the backup MA. Two squaddies of mine 'gangbanging' me Spit5 & F4u vs Hurri 2c. After i while i managed to land 7 kills, the last one trying to get me landing (they were pretty frustrated by that time) and crashing...
Needed 10 mins to get my heart rate back into acceptable limits after that.

I know that feeling. Had one a couple of nights ago. 2 friends and I were chasing a 190D when we were bounced by 4 higher 262's. I was the last survivor (heck, only got off a couple of shots) and by this point, there were 3 262's and the 190. It was at least a couple of minutes of me dodging the the 4 of them (and me laffing riotously when I survived a pass :D) before I finally lost track of 1 of the 262's. It was the most fun I've had in ages. :)

Had a great night last night myself in the CT. P40E vs A6M2B is a great matchup. TZR and oldman seem to know how to fly that thing much better than I can, kept me sweating the whole time. Managed to film them and they've been almost as much fun watching as it was flying them.
Nights like those really make the bad ones worth working through.

I am working on my 3rd stroke from AH. (j/j)
My doctor tells me that the game causes too much excitement for me to handle. A awesome match-up like the P40E vs A6M2B might cause me to have the "big one" :)

Our last fight - my Wildcat v. your Zeke - was one of the best I've ever had. Great flying, as always, Wonton.
