Title: Europe: There is no 'confusion' in the U.S.A
Post by: Ripsnort on November 30, 2000, 08:07:00 AM
We now live in a country where I have no President but I do have ...

1) a dead Senator from Missouri going to Congress.
2) A fake President played on TV by Martin Sheen.
3) A new Senator from New York who used to be the wife of the boss of the
man who may be President.
4) A Governor from Florida who is the brother of the man who may be
President and son of a man who was.
5) A sitting President whose wife now will be hanging around the same men
who voted to remove him from office.
6) A senior Senator from South Carolina who, under our current Constitution
rules, could be appointed to be President in this standoff despite the fact
that he is 98.
7) A potential Vice President who, because he did not take his name off the
Connecticut Senate race, could end up being the deciding factor in how the
Senate is composed. And Finally ....
8) A state where a Republican Secretary of State and a Democratic Attorney
General try to determine the outcome of 25 electoral votes without appearing
to be partisan.
Any Questions?  Frankly, I don't see what the confusion is all about.

DEMOCRATIC GOLF RULES

 1. Democrats get to keep shooting until one gets par or an acceptable
score.

 2. Democrats are allowed to keep score by hand; Republicans are not
allowed to keep score at all, the Democrats will appoint someone to keep
score for them.

 3. If a Republican shoots par or under par on a hole, a Democratic
appointee will sue in Court to a Democratic appointed Judge that the score is
invalid.

 4. Holes for Democrats will be 3 ft in diameter (to allow less
confusion); Republicans will use the regulation size holes.

 5. If a shot is missed by a Democrat it will be counted if the Democrat
intended it to go in, and can certify this by written statement to
     Rev. Jessie Jackson.

 6. Scores by Democrats can be changed after the round, if they can
     prove one of the following:
      a) Trees were improperly placed on the course
      b) Wind speed was too strong
      c) Water was placed on the course in away that confused the Democrat
          on club selection.

I have one...once that all this $h1t has happened, what will be done...and when to make this never happen again?.

I think that all democrats and Rip-ublicans...err REPublicans ( (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)) will agree that "this thing" can't happen again.

And yeah, I think that Gore is going beyond what should be acceptable. Real gentlemen should know when to give a step back and accept he has lost.

Said that, I still think very badly about the "Other" one  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Okay, I think Nader had it right when he said recently that Bush and Gore should have flipped a coin to decide the next presidency.  It may sound very irreverent of our constitution, but consider the following:[list=1]

The economy is headed to the tank.  We must have a tax cut to stimulate it!!!!  If the US has a recession, the rest of the world will have a depression!!!  This will be called the Gore recession.  The Dems are going to burn all they can before Bush takes office (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)  They don't care at all about the "people"!!  They only care about regaining power in the House and Senate in 2002, the hell with the "people".  Just watch what the Dems in Congress do over the next 2 years.  They will try and stop anything that will improve the economy and save your retirement funds.  They will stand in the way of saving Social Security and Medi-Care!!!  The problem is that the Dems will be successful because our nation is a majority of non-producers (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)  There just aren't enough producers to support the non-producers anymore.  The Dems will continue to bleed the producers and drive our  nation to mediocrity (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

The "next recession" most likely started last March.

Ever heard of a "business cycle"? Did you think high tide and green grass was your birthright and would last forever? Think economic history and precedent is suspended while a certain party is in office?  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Whoever wins this Presidential goatrope will most likely inherit a declining economy.

It will be easy to blame the guy in the oval office but the truth will be that it is/was caused by world/political/demographic/market forces beyond his control.

What effect do you think high oil prices have on the world/US economy?

I'm sorry...excuse me... don't do any research or deep thinking! Take the easy way out....you'll feel better no matter who the poor schmuck in the Oval Office happens to be. Just blame him.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Good post, Toad.  The President always gets too much credit or blame for the economy.
