Title: Quick Mouse Request
Post by: LeadDog on June 01, 2005, 06:28:12 AM
It would be nice if the mouse cursor would disappear off the screen after not being moved or used for 20 seconds.  Then it should reappear if the mouse is moved.  This is a fairly common practice in software and would get the mouse out of the field of view when not needed.  I usually bury the mouse at the bottom of the screen but it seems during t he best dogfights it finds a way up onto the screen again.

I have thought of this also. It could be a configuration setting.

Mouse Pointer Hide Delay: {in seconds, 0=disable}

It could also be a . command

.MouseHide 20

Agreed, I always get annoyed dramatically by the mouse being in the way.

In the mouse-view, the cursor will appear too, highly irritating me. I suggested something like the cursor being disabled with the mouseview, no positive reactions yet..

It's not like it takes a huge effort and lots of RAM to move the stupid thing.  Just move it.

Agree it should disappear in 6-10 seconds.

You're not supposed to fly with a mouse. The fact that you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. No mouse will ever equate to using a simple $15 analog joystick. The mouse code is just in there to be nice, I believe.

Just move it, you don't need to grab the thing, just knuckle it to the side, takes a fraction of a second if you're in a tight fight.

That said, it'd be neat if the resolution was upped.
