"Farewell Tour I"
to be technical about it
Like they just said a "tounge in cheek" title and they can do as many farewell tours as they want so they are gonna number em
LOL

Been watching em all night. If I must say, Joe Walsh looks like he's having a blast!

Hehe, he sang too clearly to be high, he was just having fun. :) He did say, though, that he's been clean for 10 years or so.

can someone explain how the peter frampton guitar mouth thingy he used in rocky mountain way works?
-
You bet.
Its basically a tube that runs from your mouth to a "talk" box that connects to your amp. When you talk into the tube, it transfers to the box it connects to. The box in turn makes it a signal and sends it to the amp. The guitar is what the signal plays off of. Your voice will only sound through the amp if you are playing the guitar. Its kind of like a "guitar voice" style thing.
Pretty neat tool. I hope that made more sense to you than it did me. :)
I'm not sure if thats right, but from what I've read about them thats how it works.

xtra point for guessing which tune first used the voice synthesizer/Vbox.

Just finished watching the program (well, an hour ago) with my parents who came to visit. They said "who are the Eagles?" Then they heard Hotel California, and said "Oh Them, I recognize that one." Was a hoot. They became engrossed in the music because they could actually understand the lyrics, and they loved the harmony. I'm talkin about a couple in their 80s, to give ya an idea. Made for a fun Family TV viewing.

The one I used didn't work like that! I had to have a microphone to use it. The box that the tube hooked up to had a little speaker in it and the sound went up the tube to the mouth. You then use your mouth to make all the groovy talking sounds INTO the mic which goes out the PA (or another amp) Maybe they have some new digital ones that work the way you described, but the voice box's back in the 70's worked like the one I used to use.

Frampton was the only other one I know who had used one
Yep, Udie it looked like that was what was happening - joe would hit the guitar then move his mouth and the sound would come out
1st class band for sure
Hotel California is me wifes and I song from 1976 - when we first started datin in HS - it had a nice horn intro last night

try again, a little earlier than frampton comes alive but not by much. here's a clue it was silly song.

Frampton used it, Joe Walsh used it, and Aerosmith used it in a few songs. Many, many more use them, but I couldn't begin to name them.
You win on the earliest song it was in. I couldn't begin to tell you. :)

Ahh, Stillwater?

Is glen fry with them on this tour? I know they had a falling out and lawsuits.
Love Joe walsh, all the way back to the "James Gang"
Barnstormers a great album.
Saw Frampton, back in 77' in Philly with Lynard Skynard, 38'special, and a host of others, can't remember who.... it's all blurry.....
5:1 surround sound on the last dvd is freakin' awsome, specially in HD Widescreen.
fogerty's "premenition" is also really great.. I love "110 degrees in the shade" .

I still think "Last Resort" on the Hotel California album is their best tune.

What? Nobody seems to have noticed the absence of Don Felder?
