Yup, 43MByte. Try with Gozilla or GetRight, some guys had file-corrupted problems downloading it with IE5 only.

Graphics are not up to date but I bet the sim will be great fun the same.

Same..... made it through the whole download, and got hung when it finally saved to disc  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Gonna try again, of course...  Does anyone know if this has multi-player?

The second link works. The game looks a little rough, and the graphics are a bit dated. It also seems to have inherited the odd Rowan viewing system. I will try to sort it out and give a full review.

Man, I hope they got the bomb-drop dynamics right!!

That's the true key to a great game!

Rowan software.

These are the guys who reuse their old sounds from way back.

I'll never buy one of their crappy products again. Last time it was MiG Alley which suffered from a stuttering bug they kept promising to solve but never did. Only some users got it.

No way, no Rowan. Idiot Brits.

I think Rowan employed Meatwater for the sounds this time?

LOL Santa.  Actually, imho the sounds are the best thing in BoB. Like duma said, they're made my Meatwater.

The graphics are not too good, in fact EAW is better, imho. Like a squadmate said, this game looks like something that should have been published 2 years ago.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

The view system is terrible, I hope I will get some sense into it.  Also, the FOV is way too narrow.

In any case, BoB is fun to fly and there are some nice details. This won't keep the interest up very long, though.

I suspect BoB won't be too much of a success...

Even in EAW I've never seen so many planes in flight, compare to B17II : 6 B17 + 6 escort + 6 LW = 18 to more than 150  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) in BOB a compromise as to be done ...

Wasn`t very good...Liked ripping wings off from spit tho...  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Seriously... its too damned "oldfashioned" (at least the demo showed like that.) Can`t speak about IL-2 and BoB at the same time / place.

I kinda waited BoB to look little better than it really was   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

I just installed B-17 II "Mighty Eight" and planes sure look good (http://www.kolumbus.fi/staga/b17/b17.gif) from outside but cockpit views (http://www.kolumbus.fi/staga/b17/cockpit_b17.jpg) are... well.. you know.
(Didn't those guys ever wash their windows?)

WOW BoB was very annoying to me, the graphics are at best so so, the flight is well wierd, and looks like someone peed all over cockpit glass.
I dont know if the full version is any better but i do know i will never find out.

Not a flame. I'm just curious. What is the deal with boxed sims? I have tried to make myself play different ones. And I cant make it through one sortie, without becoming bored with them. The AI doesn't care if I shoot it down. I don't care if I shoot it down. What is the point.

Ok, I downloaded the demo and installed it.
Brought it up, turned on all the realism features.
It loads the mission (2 minutes).
Suddenly, I'm in a dirty spit cockpit, and there's this awful beeping noise that goes on for about 1.5 sec.  It stops when my plane explodes.
Another trip out there -- I last slightly longer, and I learn my lesson to turn off collisions. The panning view system sucks, so I have to kill that.  Only problem is the fixed view system really doesn't give you anything to see -- I found forward, left, right and that's it.  Now how am I supposed to keep my lift vector pointed at an enemy if I can't look up?
Sounds are cool, but the external noise of planes passing by is overdone.  I can see hearing the rumble of a bomber over your own engine's noise when that bombers is 20 feet out your window, but 500 yards away?
The terrain textures are corrupt on my version.
All those planes in the air makes for an impressive sight, but that's about it.  The hit sprites look as bad as the ones in AH, if not worse.
After three or four attempts at sorties, I had a hard crash.  I don't know if I'll be heading back.

I got the demo and tried it. Even with the fast download at 640k it wasn't worth the time to use it. I tried about 4 times to do something with it and was disappointed. I think the old Lucas Films BoB was better than this one is. If ya haven't tried this thing, save yourself the time and drop the idea. It isn't worth it. Hell I think the old Kesmai AW flew better.
