Title: Question for Middle Aged Model Builders
Post by: Shifty on June 03, 2005, 09:07:35 AM
Do any of you guys remember the old Revell Fighting Dueces series of aircraft models?

Growing up in Plano Tx in the early 70's the only place I could get a model airplane kit was a department store named Gibsons.

Until revell made this series I thought the only fighter the Japanese had in WWII was the Zero. The kits were all 1/72 scale and contained two airplane models. One Allied, and one Axis. The kits I remember  were:
 F4F vs A6M Zero
 Spit Vs Bf-109
 F4U vs Ki-43
 P-47 Vs Ki-61
Tempest , or Typhoon vs Me-262
P-51 vs KI-84.

Anybody that built these kits remember any others? Is there anywhere you can still find these kits?

Thanks
