Yeah that title got ya in here right?
But I am not professing my AH knowledge just something I found while making up a reference sheet for myself.
Which is you ask, (or not knowing the types that get around this bbs) :).
Well I found that there are 160 keys for AH <---
Now you old timers just pipe down I know that you already knew this one, this is more for the other newbie's like me.
Man no wonder I get lost when I play with the light off
Type------------------------Count
Bail out controls--------------2
Bombsight calibration---------2
Brake controls----------------3
Engine controls--------------14
Film keys---------------------7
Flight controls---------------22
Global keys------------------18
Gunner keys------------------5
Gunnery modes---------------3
Jump keys-------------------13
Stick Sets--------------------4
Vehicle keys------------------6
View keys-------------------55
Weapon controls--------------6
Grand Total-----------------160
Ok some are on the stick, but lets have a look at what a furballer needs as a maximum.
So we take out the gunnery, gunnery modes, bombsite, film, stick sets, jump to position, and Vehicle keys and we are still left with 120
Man imagine if we had to worry about our fuel mix and had things like manual landing gear cranking as a backup, cockpit release ect
Hmmm... manual landing gear cranking, cockpit release
Hey HT can we have......:D

i agree mussie, it would be wicked if we could get movement of the canopy :D

that why until you memorize them all i suggest new players print out the default key commands, also i suggest they don't change them until they are comfortable enought to know all the keys even when not flying
at least thats what i teach new members to our squad that i train.

yeah I had a printout, but I am at the point where I remember most of it, its just handy to have a reference for the more obscure ones

If you are playing with yerself with the lights off, you've spent too much time around Doobs already.
Oh, you meant playing AH with the lights off. Whoops. :) My bad.
-
2 seconds around doobs is too much

I spent weeks experimenting with control layouts on the stick. For the controls I can't/didn't want to map to the stick, I use either a small LED light over the keyboard, or raised felt pads, about 1/4" diameter (think they came with some peripheral device or other), with adhesive on the back. That way, I could keep the lights off, but be able to tell instantly by the touch and relative location what key was what. Some of my keys are now worn to a mirror finish. I hate this game.:p
