[andy rooney] It's time to open our hearts and minds.. lets all try to say something nice about the new Russia! There must be many wonderful things to see and do there...
If there was a russian sports illustrated swimsuit edition... I'd want that.
Surely there are many good things that are worthy of speculation? Such as, does Russia have a Comedy Channel?
Is there a Russian Ellen Degeneris? Daily Show? Dave Chappele?
I wonder how well Regis would do over there in the morning time slot. Is there a bounty on Wolf Blitzer? Just once, I'd like to see Katie Kouric with a russian voiceover. That would be nice, don't you think?
I'm pretty sure most Russians don't look like the two guys in the Smirinoff Ice commercials. I saw Alexander Solzhenitsyn, he didn't even have a fur hat. Besides, Smirinoff is bottled in the USA.
There's so many questions.. Did you ever wonder, does the moscow football team have cheerleaders?[/andy rooney]

Hot chicks
Strange alphabet
Nice mix of east and west
Nice weather
Picturesque technological anachronisms
Comicaly blunt attitude
Those stupid leninist/etc badges and other persona-cult items and fur hats my dad brought back during the 80s

Russia has some of the warmest and friendliest people you will ever meet.
Lots of oil and gass
Exciting history
Some truly amazing buildings.
Russia is a great neighbour.

Going to spend the Friday evening in StPetersburg and continue my trip at Saturday morning to Chelyabinsk aka "Tankograd"; it was one of the cities Ruskies moved their tank factories in ww2 and it was also "closed" from tourists for decades.
Also one of the most polluted places in earth because of couple nuclear disasters...

And you're going there voluntarily?

Well... Yes.
Then I can at least say I've been there, bought the T-shirt and received my share of radiation :D
hmmm I wonder if there's a "Hardrock Cafe" in Chelyabinsk... would be nice addition to my HC T-shirt collection :)

Art and McDonalds are one and the same in Moscow. The place is a five-star restaurant decorated in Chinese/Manchurian style. It is truely awesome, rivaling luxurious restaurants about the globe in elegance. If I was to work at McDonalds, this would be the one.
Hangtime, that's where I thought you went when you retired.:D

Russians are a great people. I hate soviets for what they did to the russians.
-
If the soviets created those scumbag russian mob guys we have here then I would agree.

Boris and Natasha. (Sorry, only good thing I could think of.........unless they DON`t have a Ellen Degeneris show)
-
Boroda and Mico...
The best comedy team eVAr!
-
They sure do export some fine looking chicks!
One of these days I would like to spend a month or so traveling around.
Never had anything against a people but I have no respect for dictatorships that murder millions of their own.
-
They did whip the Nazis. That's a plus.
-
Good hockey players.

Most effective manned space program. They do amazing things for a group of people that get paid in scrap metal salvaged from abandoned buildings.
I hate to say it, and seriously, I'm fighting laughter, but the numbers say that the Russian space program is... efficient. I know, I know, it sounds funny, but the Russians definately get way more metaphoric bang for their buck when it comes to space.

mmmm vodka...

I like Russia and Russians. I deal with them in my business all the time.
In 1991 when I was training for a job overseas one of the guys in my class was Russian and I was amazed that he could come and work for a US company and be posted to different countries. I guess the cracks in the USSR were already appearing even then.
In one of the squads I was a member of the leader was a Russian guy. He was one of the greatest squad leaders I ever saw. He could stir up things so bad and get everyone gunning for us. He took a bunch of rookies and made them the best squad in that game.
Russian women are beautiful. Just look at the recent Miss Universe from Canada.
I agree with whoeven said that Russia is much closer to the US than almost any other country now that Communism has gone. It was Communism that was the problem in the past. Not the people.
-
They're no longer the USSR. That's a great thing!
-
They build the best looking warships (before the rust sets in).

I went to the Russian space exhibit when it was on tour in the US . It was pretty cool to say the least.
I am sure you heard the story of NASA spending millions to make an ink pen write in space, the russians just used a pencil :)

Graphite particles are not the best thing to have floating around near electronics.

Subject, SUBJECT!!
Nice[/i] things about Russia are...
Red Square.. immense, amazing.. and the Kremlin! What a sight!
The Taxi Rides.. better than Six Flags!
The Moscow Air Show.. there's tons of cool stuff in Russia! maybe Staga will post some pics!
-
The know how to make a great cheap assault rifle.
They make some of the pretiest modern fighters.
They make great villians for our movies!
They did a nice job kicking the crap out of the germans in WW2.

Urban legend. NASA didn't spend a cent developing the pens, Fisher made 'em on their own. NASA bought 'em, the Russians bought 'em, and Fisher made a buttload of money.

Maria Sharapova.
MiG-21's.
-
Maria Sharapova in a MiG-21. Voila.
The Moscow Air Show..
Unlike many other countries, Russian airshow demonstrations are super cool because they regularly demonstrate their ejection seat technology.

Everyone I know who has been involved with the establishing the first Reformed theological seminary (http://russia-reformed.org/rsspb/default.htm) in Russia in St. Petersburg has had wonderful reports about the Russian people and students they have worked with and are encouraged by the progress they continue to see there.
(Well one visiting lecturer got beaten , robbed, and tied up by thugs, but that has been the exception, not the rule!)
Oh yeah, and Hermitage in St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful and impressive Museums I've ever been too. (Course that's 'cause the architecture predates the revolution but so what)...

Stolichnaya!!!

I've always admired the architecture of the Urban cities in Russia.
I think the Russian Hotties have a sultry look not found in most western women. (is it the eyes?)
and to quote " MMMmmmmmmm Vodka"
-
Many cheap hookers come from Russia and other Eastern European countries.
Also, if you marry a Russian she will take a lot of abuse cause that's how things work there.
-
Yulia Nova.
-
something nice about Russia.
...what do I win?
-
Wait wait, I got another...
Well even though they tried real hard with their comunist exspansion, they never managed to start WW3!!!
:D
-
Growing up we always saw East German and Russian women portrayed as men in dresses. Big hairy burly types. Honestly today I think Russian, Slovakian, any part of that world, has some of the finest looking women around! We have students that come here to work in the summer. Oh to be 22 again!

Appearantly americans forgot how attractive non fat white chicks are.
