My wife's favorite tee-shirt:

that reminds me...

I had an old brit bike with either weak or intermittent spark most of the time.. I used to con my brothers into holding the spark plug wire and judged the spark by their howling.

you can bend the front sight or ejector rod on a revolver pistol whipping someone.   Glocks are useless for pistol whipping.

Hah.  Funny you bring up rules about guns today.  I just had to requal with the M-9 (beretta 9mm nato) using the USAF's "new and improved" qualification course that will of course be replaced no kidding on Monday with an even better new and improved qualification course.

It's 45 practice, and 45 qual rounds, shot at 7, 15, and 25 meters.  At 7 and 15 meters, they require two to the body, one to the head.  At 25 meters, you shoot some over a horizontal barrier and some against a vertical barrier.  One of the toughest is at 25 meters, you have 25 seconds to shoot 3 rounds over a horizontal barrier, drop to a knee and reload, and shoot 3 more still kneeling and using a vertical barrier to brace yourself.  It's similiar to what you'd have to do if you were firing over the hood or trunk of a car, dropped behind to reload, and continued firing from a low position around the side of the car.

For those who are familiar, my score was 45-28-9, good enough for expert.  45 total on the paper, 28 in the chest circle, and 9 in the headshot circle.  The min for expert is (if I recall correctly) 42-25-6 and the min for qual only is 35 out of 45 just hitting the paper.  The course is a heck of a lot tougher and more realistic than it used to be, which is a good thing I think.  The last time I qualified, it was the "old" course with only center of mass shots and 36 total rounds, and I put 35 out of 36 into the center circle.  That was pretty easy for me because I've been shooting almost all my life, but the new course was actually pretty challenging, and probably a better course now that even USAF support personnel are tasked with patrols and convoy duty.

Of course, if I ever get shot down or find myself in enemy territory armed only with that 9mm, I'm going to trade it to some kid for his bike and pedal for the border.  Or maybe sneek up on someone with an AK, club him on the head with it, and steal his weapon.  I sure as heck don't want to actually have to FIRE the thing in combat 'cause it just points out to the enemy who the officer is.

Throw it at his head and you might kill him. Shoot him in the head and you might piss him off.
