hehe sorry animal i dont know about your cartoon you evil being -

i'm too busy crapping on the flag, blaspheming, corrupting society,  and beating babies here in babylon to respond in depth. oh and hating of course - never can get enough hate time.

i will say this though - i'm glad we live on a big planet. all that mass makes it stable for us "confused clingers" like a cadillac.

if it was smaller we'd be floating around all the time. its a big black void out there its nice to have something to stick to. we really lucked out i say.

maybe we should celebrate by anihilating each other?

absurdity seems to be the template for a lot of things in nature so might as well stick to the plan. molotov anyone?

But Mr. Oven Runner Fish, are you assuming that the plan of our lord is prone to failure, and that the American way of life wont lead us to a thousands years future?

Or are you just a doom'sayer?

Please spend 2 minuts to read this lines  :)
Another point of wiew is possible.

"In the aftermath of the terrible shock of the tragic events on Sept. 11, I extend my deepest sympathies to all those affected. From the bottom of my heart, I pray for the victims, and I pray that their families may find inner strength, healing and, eventually, renewed happiness.

It is impossible not to be outraged at the senseless loss of so many lives. And yet it is not the numbers that make this tragedy so horrific. Every single person lost was irreplaceable and immensely precious—a muchloved sister, father, son, mother or friend. Each individual’s life contained infinite possibilities waiting to be realized. In the most terrible manner imaginable, we have been reminded of the immense value of human life.

In all its teachings, Buddhism stresses how sacred and precious life— especially human life—is. One scripture reads: "A single day of life is worth more than all the treasures of the universe." Terrorism, which so cruelly robs people of life, can never be excused or justified by any reason or cause. It is an absolute evil. And when such acts are committed in the name of religion, it demonstrates the utter spiritual bankruptcy of the perpetrators.

As human beings sharing a common home, we have all been impacted by this terrible deed. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." We must unite across differences of nationality and faith in order to create a world free of injustice, violence and terror. I call for a just and equitable international tribunal to be established to try those responsible for acts of terrorism and other crimes against humanity.

But the struggle against terrorism requires more than short-term international cooperation. It requires a profound reexamination of the nature of human civilization. For much of our history, humanity has been trapped in vicious cycles of hatred and reprisal. We must redouble our efforts to break this cycle and transform distrust into trust. I believe that this is the most effective and fundamental antidote to terrorism and its repugnant worship of violence.

It is the function of evil to divide; to alienate people from each other and divide one country from another. The universe, this world and our own lives, are the stage for a ceaseless struggle between hatred and compassion, the destructive and constructive aspects of life. We must never let up, confronting evil at every turn.

This attack was an ultimate manifestation of evil and shows us the vilest depths to which human nature can sink. In the end, the evil over which we must triumph is the impulse toward hatred and destruction that resides in us all. [...]

OMG blur, you mean to tell me were actually killing people in this war of ours???????  Is this true, why are we killing people in a war? It must stop.

Its interesting how this bastard Robert Fisk describes the Taliban using words like "courage" while describing our allies as "afghan gunmen" like some sort of criminals or something. These bastards who run the webpage just cant hide their hatred of this country. And just how flippantly they say the USA is targeting civilans. Simply unbelivable!

Or how about this roadkill....

"No wonder I found the local Taliban commander, the thoughtful and intelligent Mullah Haqqani, preparing to cross the Pakistani border to Quetta"

Well toejam this Robert Fisk traitor and the Talibs are old pals for sure.

And again the reference to US allies as some dark malevolent "gunmen" who apparently hunt down the innocent folksy polite and apperntly fearful taliban men.

"Later, he admitted that all Taliban men had been ordered to leave Spin Boldak on Saturday night for fear that Alliance gunmen would invade the camps disguised as refugees."

Is this guy nuts?

I hope this Robert Fisk gets his due and is taken care of by his Talib buddies in the coming weeks.

Simple fd ski.

I honestly belive that people like blur are beyond reasoning with. So I simply try to express my displeasure with him and my anger at his ideas.

I really dont think he cares what anyone thinks outside his band of merry communist, america hating, social justice, anti trade class warfare, etc, etc, etc, and so on.

His ideas are just as innapropriate as blatant hateful racism, oppressive nazism or communism, and Im holding him accountable and challenging him. Perhaps Im not being too civil about it, but frankly I dont give a damn anymore. Stupid, hateful and uniformed bad people like blur should not be respected, and should be treated accordingly.

Im sorry you disagree.

Well, hell, obviously the fat nazi never even considered the presence a free press with instant access to every home in the nation via digital TV. Or MTV. I dont really see how my well justified hatred of communism and extrme leftists makes me anything seeker or 10bears say.

Listen up guys I grew up in a communist country, Ive seen the wonder of communism/socialism at work. And now Im in the SF Bay Area with all its little college campus pop-socialists and communists who are the same people that vandalized Seattle in the extremist WTO riots. How do I know they are the same? Well a bunch of leftists and pop-socialists at my school went to Seattle and  they bragged about their training to resist police and organize violence. I was honestly shocked to see that so many extreme leftists are in the USA, are these people stupid why do they want communism. I dont understand them very well, I think it because they are rich and comfortable from USA eocnomy and think any socioeconmic structure can bring the same result because they know nothing else.  BTW when I say "leftist" I dont mean in terms of Left/Right USA politics as in the Democrats and the Republiacans or Liberals or Conservatives, both are fine and vital counterparts to true American political life. I mean in terms of "leftists" being anti democratic anti american  communist/socialist fringe elements excatly like the neo-nazis today are nazi/fascist anti democratic anti american fringe groups. Both are nuts, both are dangerous and both should be confronted and challenged whenever they or their ideas surface. Nazism and Communism were virtually identical before and they sure still are today.

More about communism,

I hate communism, I hate rich college kid and rich western euro pop-socialists even more. These are the same people who hate world trade, who hate democracy, many are anarchists, most preach class and racial warfare/politics (like the nazis and communists did BTW) and nearly all hate the USA and dont want the USA to defend itself in response to 911 act of war. I honestly diddlying hate and despise these people, and if any of you are those people well then I honestly hate you and hope you may be unsuccesful in your life and generally unhappy.

Im very passionate and honest with my feelings aout communism and the current "anti-american" people. Sometimes my comments get very emotional, but thats who I am and Im proud of it because I love this country which quite litrally saved my life and has given me many new oppritunities. Those who hate it or take it for granted may not be able to understand, but thats the truth about me.

Im Croatian Animal, so I grew up in the old Yugoslavia.

Now Yugosalvia was actually one of the nicer Communist states to live in as standard of living was quite good. In fact many die hard communist appologists often point to Yugosalvia as an example of succesful socialism/communism. However they always ignore one key fact, the tons of American and Western money given to Tito for his rejection of Stalin and his official neutrality in the Warsaw Pact/NATO standoff.
This money, reportedly somewhere over $20-30 Billion is what made Yougosalvias socialist wonder look so comfy, and its why many communist appologists refer to the country with affection.

In fact under this glitter of western aid money, the country was a standard lazy corrupt and opressive communist dictatorship. It just could get by without major crises because of the money. when the money ran out it began to fold like all unsustainable communst hack jobs.

So yes communism can work if somebody else is paying the bills and the communists arent responsible for sustaining themselves.

another funny thing about Yugo.

I heard that some Bay Area Cadillac dealerships were actually offering a free Yugo with each Cadillac bought. Kind of like a free dhingy you might get with a Boat purchase.  :D

Grun, i'm not gonna quote your long winded post, too much editting.

Few things.

How old are you ?
Just out of curiosity. I could swear that you posed somewhere while back that you are 22. Do i remember correctly ?

As for your hate of all the groups you mention, take a nice little step back and look at what you wrote. Just think about it for few minutes. Look at insults combined with stereotypes there. Looks familiar ?

There is something that you don't seem to understand about this new country of yours, despite all your despreate flag waving and hatred you spew here.

FREE SPEACH.
I can post any opinion i want. Anyone can.
Hell, i'm entitiled to it. I still have my military ID. I served this country. I earned this. Did you ?

You are entitled to your hate and stereotypes, just as much as i'm entitled to my opinion, but there is a distinct difference between someone's different political/sociological/ideological viewpoint, and blanket hate of all things that in your twisted mind resemble something that you remember.

Let me see if i got it correctly.
Anti trade = Communist ? How exacly did you figure that out ?
Rich kid in rich school = hate USA ?
Anti globalization = anti democracy ?
How do you manage to draw those conclusions ?
Have you for a minute listened and tried to understand what those people are saying, without predetermined response ? I'm not suggesting you should agree with them, but drawing such blanketing equation suggests premeditated reason.

I have to quote this:

Quote
I mean in terms of "leftists" being anti democratic anti american communist/socialist fringe elements excatly like the neo-nazis today are nazi/fascist anti democratic anti american fringe groups. Nazism and Communism were virtually identical before and they sure still are today.

Neo nazi groups are VERY patriotic if you would care to look at them. But you only needed something to smear right ?
How did you figure anti american = communist ? Didn't you get your e-mail notification about cold war being over ?
Confronted and challenged ? How ? Maybe if we tell them

Quote

You are welcome to have an opinion, please do. We might not agree, and i still won't care. But with statements you just made in this post, i seem to fall in at least 2 groups you mention due to my opinions, and you feel i should be "confronted and challenged" for having them.
Franky, if you lived though genocide in Balcans, of all people, you should know where this sort of thinking leads. Think about it.

Yes I have talked to many of them, the people I call "leftists". There are tons of them at my college. What I hear from every one at my school is nearly the same as I see on signs at the WTO protests, from people like dowding and blur and many in the media who have come out against the american war effort in the 911 war.

Lets touch specifically on a few points.

Anti-american.

They all oppose the USA defending itself and want the UN to do it and oppose US military action to solve the problem.

They all attack US allies in the war, call them names, try to make them seem evil. Same for the USA.

"AMERICA IS THE TERRORIST" Poster at "anti-war" rally at my school.

Look at webpage: www.counterpoint.org (http://www.counterpoint.org)  I just saw it last nite and Im shocked, all the same things as my lil pop-socialsts say at the school.

Anti-trade.

Seattle, Prague, Toronto, Genoa, etc. Need I say more. Again the same tired old slogans and plenty of communists and radicals. People at my school, the leftists, participated in many of these coordinated and violent attacks on the cities.

Anti-Democracy.

Many are Anarchists who hate the US government and US legal traditions. I have heard from them that they dont belive in US elections since they belive the vast majority of people are too stupid to make the "correct decision", (read: they disagree with them and dont vote for Nader). Communism is not democracy. Many are communists.

Im so mad because Im sorrounded by these people and there is no way to reason with them?

Yes im about 22.

I dont really think neo-nazis are patriotic, their goal is to take down the government, take over the country and basically destroy it. The leftists want the same thing, just in a diffrent way. Neither are patriots.

fd-ski

Please tell me what you would like to see done regarding this war?

Isnt that the point?
Isnt the beautiful thing about this country, that you can have whatever opinion you want? WHY are you trying to "rason with them"? Why would they believe you when you try to convince them that YOU are right, and that they should stop thinking like they do. I would hate to have an argument with you in person. You seem like one of those ONE-WAY conversationalists who puts all his effort in trying to "reason" (I.E: convince them) with those that do not agree with you. Sounds pretty comunist to me!

If you were in charge of the country, how would you get rid of these people?

Regarding war ? Heck i have no problem with it at all.

Some minor details i might not agree on, but overall i'm really happy it's going as smoothly as it does.
Which kinda puts a chink in your previous statements grouping all us lefties together...
See, i didn't get a chance ( didn't drive to consulate fast enough ) to vote in last polish elections, if i did, i would have voted for Social Democract, who are nothing more then ex communists.
Am I a communist ? Nope. Wrong anwer.
How confusing is that, eh ?

I'm not anti globalization, but i am anti trade in some respects.
I don't sign up to "exploit them for their own good" theory, no matter how nice it looks on paper.

See all those contradictions ?
By the token of your previosu posts, you equate people in your mind based on particular traits or opinions.
It's a bad habit.
At least you base it on people's opiniosn not skin color, but underlying philosohy remains the same.

Stereotypes + hate = bad things happend.

As for your age, you were born in 1979 then ?

I'm 1974, born in good old Comunist poland, i regime i've seen and rememeber are nothing more then highly westernised leftovers of ex so called "glory".
Heck, i remember very little details of hard core communism, it fell apart before my eyes as i entered my teenage years ( 13+ ).
That means that you were 8 at that time ?
Which kinda makes me sceptical as to your personal experiances with it.

Mind you, yugoslavia had a cooking mess afterwards, but i'm not sure of commies can be blamed for that one.

Now, don't go interpreting what i wrote above as my endorsment of communism attempt to excuse it.
Let history be a judge. I just want to know what was your personal experiance with it that made you feel so strongly about it.

Please note personal portion.

You seem like one of those ONE-WAY conversationalists who puts all his effort in trying to "reason" (I.E: convince them) with those that do not agree with you. Sounds pretty comunist to me!

heh.. that defeats the purpose of having a democracy (er, republic).  good point animal =]

Well I always think that the smart person is the one who shuts up and listens while the others babble on about their opinions. Then briefly, opens his mouth, says a few words, and the other person is left speechless and confused, trying to recover and say something "smart", while subconsciously doubting their own ideals. This self-doubt causes anger, wich is projected (to the amusement of others) to the other person verbally, and in rare cases, physically.

I would have loved to see Grunhertz having a chat with my late philosophy teacher. He would have pretended to be a comunist just for the sake of arguement, and an angry teary eyed Grunherz stuttering trying to find words, ends up shouting "diddly you, commie scum"

Sorry to say it, but I gotta be honest: it shows that you were raised in a comunist country, Grun. You have democratic and righteous ideals, but deep down in your subconscious core, you have the escence of a "commie". And I see that a lot in this country. People need to double check their own attitudes, feelings, ideas, and even sense of humor, before they go outside to try to force others to think like they "should".

Yes I bet there's something to that Animal, my consciusness hate communism in a subconsciously communist way.

Basically the whole thing deals with my shock of the number of people in the USA, especially young people who for some reason find the disaster of communism very appealing.

Maybe its the SF Bay Area, any of you guys from around the USA have different experiences?

Here in PR, there are some extremist wannabe US-hating groups. Not many, and they do not come nearly as close to the neo-nazies or what you describe as the commie boys in your college.

Anyways, these are just naíve kids with inmature and romantic ideals of "freedom" and blah blah blah. They hate everything U.S (even though most of their scholarship is payed by the US, and they gladly take the money) and go around preaching the 'evils' of the USA ways. They use pretty hostile words and have bigger mouths than they can afford to back up. I dont like their toejam opinions. But I know what they are: handsomehunkes trying to find a way to be rebels.
Now, I can go and argue with them all day long. I will never change their minds. All I could do is get them to hate me and try to do something stupid. But I wont waste my time, because I know that their ideals are hollow, and are just a face for their angry inside trying desperately to disagree with everyone and be the underdog.

So I just walk by and ignore them.
Because even if my opinions are completly different than theirs, lowering myself to their level and doing an opinion spit-match with them will only make me what they are. And isnt that what they want?

I think what this country needs, is to really, genuinely, understand democracy, and to love it. Then we will be on our good way.

We are fighting the Taliban for a good cause in my opinion. But we must control our minds and focus on what we stand for. Because if you are blinded by rage, you are just like the extremist taliban; only on the other side of the fence.

Now, who was that guy who said:

"I may not like what you are saying, but I will die fighting for your right to say it"

..or something. whatever. as if. gotta go watch MTV

Yep the people you describe are exactly like the loonies at my school they curse the USA at every turn yet live happy fat lives on the US economy and US cultural and social and economic benefits.

Most of friends and family tell me to ignore them for exactlty the same reasons you said Animal. I honestly try but is difficult as Im unfortunatly a bit stubborn and hot temperd when it comes to something I have strong ideas about.

Its something I have to figure out as i go on in life.

Rip, tell me what is wrong with the reasons the objective-not-hopping-to-bandwagon fish presented on that cartoon? I find them to be quite accurate and truthful. Number might not be 100% right but the basic idea is.

Bravo Animal, Grun and FdSki.

WTG men.. you three have just demonstrated the power and strength of our great ideals..

In adversity, Common Ground... amazing; ain't it?

One depressing thought tho... I'm depressed, having discovered that Animal has a brain.

My son... you may come home now.  :D

Honest fuel to the fire burning:

I think over 50% of the world population symphesices with the fish without flag.

I am unknown for sure about whether those facts are all true or not but a large part of the world considers them valid. Not implying that what happened on 9-11 was justified but those are certainly several reasons which contributed to them...

Grun,

You moved from a communist country to San Francisco?  That just sends my irony meter off the scale.    :)

This thread shows it clearly...

Damn, Animal.  60+ posts and still going strong.  Any bets on whether or not this puppy could hit 100 hate-filled diatribes before all is said and done?

Actually, this post is already a failure.
It shifted from full-on hate, to agreement, peace, and comedy.

My only hope is that it sinks down the bad-threads lake, along with all posts made by TheWobble.
