Post by: Ack-Ack on June 12, 2005, 04:07:20 PM
This guy is taking Denmark and Europe by storm.  Move over David Hasselhoff, here comes the Spinner.

I have to ask.  Assuming by this video there is a "eruo-type" idol based on American Idol......do they actually sing english/American songs there or is it mostly Eurostuff we've never heard of?

just curious.

If you can see by The Spinner's excellent audition, he is clearly lending his vocal stylization to a song in English.

Yes Gunns, we have electricity and even running water. At one point, someone invented how to use radio waves, and we learned how to listen to music from around the world.

As you can see in the video, we can even learn to sing (to some extend)

you guys completly misunderstood me.

In a euro version of "American Idol"  would the contestents do mostly:

A.  American songs sung in english
B.  European songs sung in their native language
C.  American songs sung in their native language

I'm not bashing europe I'm trying to gain understanding about your "pop culture"  please remove your panties from the bunch they are in.

Sorry if I jumped the gun, but it does seem like the "hip" thing to do here... so I got the habit as well.

To answer your question:
There is no "European language", we almost all speak our own national one(s). You will hear a lot of anglo-saxon music on the radio, most of it being american or english (England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland)... some of our local bands sing in english too (IE: Deus, K'sChoice). It seems that english is "the" language if you want to stand a chance. Then there is roughly 20% left of the market that's left to the local language for most countries.

So, yes... we have our own stuff, but still widely listen to yank music (Not Country though... that should be made illegal!)
