I would like to try my hand at making some movies.  I am a total novice at this kind of thing and could really use some advice.

1)  I want to use windows movie maker.  How do I convert .ahf files into a useable format?  One that WMM can use obviously.

2)  Once I have converted the files to a useable format what do I do with them?  Do I Import the raw file to WMM and the do all the editing there?  I guess what I am asking is what is the chain of events to making a movie?  Example..... Do I convert to a useable file then import to WMM then edit then add music then compress?  Im sure there is something I have to do with codecs also (I dont really understand codecs)  Any help is appreaciated.
