in the radio bar the very last one on right is for frequency  100-199 is country channel .(mostly a squad will pic a # and thats there channel ) this transmit's with the   T  key

the F-12 key is for local/ range talk

the sound that u heard was a Check 6
this was done with the ' key while looking at that players plane (it highlights with a box around there name)

I think he was talking about the range beeps.  When you press the F12 key, you get a beep before hearing the transmission (if there is one).  The sender's game ID appears in the upper right corner of the screen.  If the name is in purple, its a "range" transmission.  If it's in yellow, its a tuned channel transmission.

Ummm......nothing?  Range beep (and note that beeps happen anytime the vox is used, not just on Range channel) is like clicking your mic.  You cant hear your own.  So theres nothing to do but listen (if whatever they have to say is worth listening to, thats debateable sometimes on Range channel) when you hear the beep.  Sometimes a guy will  have something malfunctioning, and the beeps get constantly repeated.  There's nothing you have to do on your end.

One thing to remember when transmitting though, there is a time limit.  You cant just hold down the button and talk.  After a set number of seconds (I think 5 seconds) it cuts you off.
