I'm with comcast on a cable modem not sure they gonna sink.  Alot of talk been about service interupttion on Friday and excite pulling the plug at 3am Saturday but Im still online. Comcast is still advertising and has sent a notice to increase price by 4 bucks and some change to be effective February 2002 still cheaper than other carriers I've seen.   Think they gonna be around for awhile then again I could be talking out me arse too!   :)

Your right, it IS a good time to sign up!  Locally, AT&T has already switched over their service.  I lost my static IP, but my ping times to HTC are 30-60ms, which is an improvement.

SOB, I sure hope I get the same..
so far i'm off-line and have to use the phone line.

We'll see how long it takes for them to get me back up.
It be great to get the same kind of ping times you're getting.

I'm still alive so far. I don't know what Insight Communications will do, but ATT is not an option in Southern Indiana yet.

Wlfgng...Do you still have any connection lights on your modem?  Mine connection stopped working, so I just figured that was it.  I called a friend who also has a cable modem and found out about the dynamic IP thing.  I got rid of my IP assignment, rebooted the modem, and was back up and running.  Dunno if the same would work for you or not.
