Title: Problems Taking Off...
Post by: Sketch on June 15, 2005, 03:12:15 PM
Weird Takoffs

I have tried all loadouts, i.e. droptanks, bombs, rockets, etc.  DIFFERENT RUNWAYS, DIFFERENT FUEL LOADOUT & AMMO LOADOUT, AND TRIED IT WITH AUTO TAKEOFF (ON/OFF).

TURN LEFT AND DOES A CIRCLE:
A6M2, A6M5B, BF110C, BF110G, F6F-5, FW190A-8, JU88A-4, KI-67-I, KI-67, MOSSIE, NIKI (W/ DROP TANKS), P47D-11, 25, 40, P-51B & D, TEMPEST, TYPHOON

WON’T ROLL, JUST SITS AT THE END OF THE RUN WAY (TOP SPEED REACHED: 25 MPH)
AR234 (WITH RTO’S ENGAGED), B-17, B-24, B-26, JU87D-3 (DRAGS EGGS), LANCS, ME262, SBD-5

OTHER PROBLEMS:
C47 (RUDDER KICKS), C202 (TURNS LEFT, THEN GOES STRAIGHT), FW190A-8 (TURNS LEFT AND THEN STRAIGHT), HURRI’S (ALL 3, TURNS, GOES STRAIGHT AND THEN WIGGLE TILL TAKEOFF), P-38’S (ALL 3, WIGGLE BACK AND FORTH DOWN RUNWAY)

Any clues to what the problem is…??

is this with auto takeoff?

if so a brake is stuck somehow. do you have toe brakes on rudder pedals? one might be bad.

or a key on your keyboard is stuck somehow. but that would manifest in other places than takeoff.

if it is manually taking off, then it is just practice.

also if manually taking off, check all your stick axis, and make sure they are in proper calibration in windows AND in game

another ting about toe brakes, they need to be calibrated just like every other part of your stick in AH

It is only with those cetain planes, like the entire Spit family I am good to go...  I am using a Saitek X52 and I will calibrate it before I even jump in the hanger to pick a plane.

Like I said... it is only with those planes listed.  I am not sure if the breaks are sticking somehow...

Will see what else we get in here for a response. :aok

Hmmm...that could explain why my toe brakes are so touchy lately.   :aok
