Today I was protecting the HQ in my 163 a flight of 234s come in and I go after them shoot one down and blow a pass then my own flack hits me and kills me. Alittle crappy if you ask me. Eather make it so it cant kill friendlys or make it turn off when friendlys are in that area.
-
you sure the 234 dident get a lucky shot???
-
I have gotten kills with the tailguns in the 234's and seen squad mates land 3 and 4 kills with them using the guns.
I also know that I have fired the maned 5"ers at squad mates and never killed them. and I have never been killed by friendly ack and few times by NMY puffy ack.
Just my 2 cents.

Well -
Twice now I have been nailed by my own CV ack.
Had my oil hit by my own base ack.
Maybe HT changed something?
-
Had my own ack give my a PW couple days ago...
-
Friendly AI ack is lethal to all three countries, but does not aim at friendly aircraft. Mannable ack is lethal to enemies only. You know what would happen if it wasn't...
-
Every once in a while I have had this happen to me. When rolling from a base that is under close attack I have been hit by the field ack...not a bandit, but from my own field ack. I know this for a couple of reasons:
1) The bandit(s) were not near my plane nor point in my direction.
2) When I died, no enemy was awarded the kill. I just received the "You were killed" message (or whatever it says).
3) Had this happen offline as well.
I don't have film because I don't record that much and it happens so rarely that I don't want to record "just on the chance". In my recollection this has only happened to me (online) perhaps 3 or 4 times in AH2 and never in AH1. Offline, it has only happened once or twice (again, in AH2, but not AH1).

Guess in it was modeled then lol. Its AI mistakes, that happened in WW2 i bet.
-
Yes, it's modeled that way. Also remember that 5"/88mm guns are proximity; if you fly into the path of one that's shooting 10k away and a round just happens to be passing by, you're toast.

if 88mms are proxy fused then they need to be fixed. the 5"ers the USA used wehre proxy but the 88mms the germans used wehre timed. Iv reviewed the film about 10 times and it was friendly 88mms from the HQ that killed me. also a few days ago a typh was makin passes at our ack on the field while i was uping and the ack shot me and took my wing off. if you can be brought down by friendly falck then they need to take killshooter off. just a week ago i was making a pass on bombers when some one came right up on my 6 flew right through me while I was shooting at the buffs and I shot him and killed myself.
edit: no viper i made a pass and blew it i was about 600 ft infront of the bombers when i got killed so he couldnt have killed me with the tail guns.

A while back, after capturing a base I was killed by the town field ack . kinda wierd, has not happened again. but once was enough. :p
I hear this ratt-a-tat-tat on my m3, I looked down at the text to make sure it said I got capture and it did, then look over to make sure it was ack that was nailing me and not some osty it was the field ack. When it killed me it showed no name , Just the ol "you've been killed" hummmmmm. highly suspect to say the least. ha!

And there was silly old me thinking you were the uber realist...

It's called friendly fire. The AA missed the enemy plane and hit yours accidentally. It's realistic. Get used to it. Quit complaining. It's not a bug.
