In the summer !
You poor bastard :)

First thing go to Mi Tierra. Not too far from the Riverwalk area, 218 Produce Row next to El Mercado. El Mercado is a big ole Mexican marketplace you can kill a bit of time in also.
Go at lunchtime. (Sets you up for a good siesta). Order the cabrito with cerveza.
You will thank me and you will be on your way to loving San Antonio. ;)
Man, I haven't been there in years.... maybe I should meet ya there!

What he said.
Congrats and welcome to Texas!!

This move to the extreme right could be troubling. ;)

welcome to Texas......now go home :p
seriously the heat and humidity in SA can be oppressive in the summer if you're not used to it so be prepared :)
SA is a beautiful city with some of the best looking women in Texas so have fun :aok

Dad used to live in SA. Great food, one of the finest downtown areas of any major US city, and more scorpions than I have ever seen in my life!
Course he lived on the outskirts of town near some woods.

clap! clap! Clap! Clap!
deep in the heart of texas.
yeha!

I wont actually be moving until April of 2006 but just having orders in hand gives a military family some sort of order from the unexpected.
The only bad part is I will be completing most of MTI (Military Training Instructor) school in the summer.
-
My Dad used to tell me stories of people who went down by the River and didn't come back, course that was WAAAAY back. He was there for Tech School in the late 50's or early 60's. I hear its a model for revitalizing downtowns.

You know, Ive always wondered what that town is really like. I got to spend a half day there while at boot camp (Lackland AFB). Cant say I much liked the heat (ppfft "its a dry heat")...being from up here in Maine, i was melting like a snowcone

Cool Guns.....San Antonio is one of my favorite cities in Texas. I lived there for a while in my early college years. Would love to go back and live there if the opportunity arose. Actually going to be there this weekend for some drum corps stuff. We are playing in front of the Alamo on Sunday and then again down on the riverwalk along with all the other Texas corps from Dallas, Seguin and San Antonio.

...are big and bright......Deep in the heart of TEXAS!!!
While you're there, don't forget to check out the basement at the Alamo!!

Welcome to the promised land my friend. BTW, if you don't know Spanish already, I suggest learning some. It will come in handy in S.A. :)

Yep, your right. They are those that were born here and those that pretend they were. :)
...........And for a third...those we wish would go home.
