I was so impressed by the concept and the trailer that I bought UT2004 so I could play. Anyone out there have a preferred server that's willing to teach me the ropes?

It's my favourite FPS by far, with BF2 a close second. I also bought UT2004 just to play it. I'd help out, but I only play Euro servers.

Hey VOR, I'd like to give R.O. a chance as well.  Let me go get UT04 and we can find a server.  I haven't done a FPS WWII game since MOH:AA and I would like to do that again.

Been playing it since first beta. Keeps getting better every release. BF2 has me by the balls right now but I'll get back to RO in a few weeks.

Probably going to get it tomorrow after work.  I have Thursday off so that's when I am going to load it and get R.O.

Hawklore, you can find it online for about 20 bucks. I paid retail  before I knew about that.

I played last night on the CiA server for a while and had a blast. It's a totally different online game than say CoD or BF1942.

I've never seen weapons modeled in a game to such meticulous and accurate detail (but the recoil on some of the SMGs is a little too pornounced). It's pretty immersive.

It also  comes with built-in voice comms, but for some reason nobody on the servers I played on actually used them. Dunno why.

Yeah VOR..

I joined up with the L.O.G.

It took my effort to get to their forums and sign up with their forum and stuff..

It stands for League of Gentleman, I just hope they stand up to be nice guys..

Check out the RO ladder for North American units..

I'd join the 13th Panz but Im more into russian.

Here's the link I used:
http://www.fz.se/filarkiv/?file=spel/ut2004/red_orchestra/RO_32_FullInstall.exe

It's a european ftp, but it's the only one I found that didn't require some form of registration. It took me about an hour to DL it with a cable modem.

I may have found a good historical-based squad to join. Gonna give it a try and let you know. Looks to be a promising alternative to having to put up with leet-speak and getting cussed out by 12 year old kids.

=)  TTR.  And I'm sort of a half retired, half still in LOG member.  I don't play RO, so you won't ever see me there.

Small world...

I have RO but now I need the patch 3555.  I have that too but its in zip format and my winzip program expired.  I thought it was freeware?

Post by: VOR on June 26, 2005, 08:54:43 PM
If u have windows xp, get rid of winzip. U don't need it anymore. Reassociate the file type with your windows zipper.

Ok, got it patched and played a little practice single player.  Have to be honest, I am not that impressed with the graphics so far but I have only scratched the surface.  Will soldier on...
