Title: .50 cals on base

Why not have a set of quad 50 cals at the base replacing one of the filed guns? With like 4000 or more rounds to it?

Like I said.... just a thought. :rolleyes:

Like Furball said.....but you can DIE in m16's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bascially for some base defense like the manned guns on the fields..... just another option is all!!

You could counter it with longer downtimes when destroyed.

Depending on AF size,

why not having a mix of 2-4 mannable .50cal pintlemounts in sandbagpositions,

2-4 37/40mm manacks

and on large AF additionally one or two AAA, like 88mm? Controllabe like the single AAA on carriers, i.e. slow traverse and elevation.

Downtimes for .50cal could be 2-5 minutes, downtime for large cal AAA (the cannon) dunno... longer than the 37mm right now. Maybe twice.

Just my 0.2...

I think it would be fun have some quad 50's sooting away at guys trying to vulch. And Bombers that you can fire the guns while still on the ground would be nice...... Uh, why can't we.... it would teach vulchers not to vulch bombers! :D Wait a second..... I vulch all the time! Crap! :rofl

Well it went like this:

We was in the DA and Ded chk 6ed me. We merged and he killed me in about 10 secs. I reup we do it again...same result. This continued on for about 30 mins as I recall and the last sortie he yelled PWN3D really loud over vox! As I sit in the tower he informs me that I'm not worthy and that I need to work on my skillz in order to provide him with a better challenge. So to sum it up, I believe he's upset b/c I couldn't provide him with a decent challenge. And once again Dedalos, I'm sorry and will practice hard so that I may become worthy one day.

Yep, you were a flaming wreckage and still turned around and shot me. No confusion with Phish cause I always get his check 6 at teh same time with the death message. At list I have time to read yours and sometime HEMPs.

IMO, depending on field size, sml, med, & lrg is what type and amount of ground guns would need to be in place.

Small - two 20mm fixed gun mounts, two single 40mm bofors mounts.

Medium - three 20mm fixed mounts, one single 40mm bofors mount. one twin 40mm bofors mount

Large - four 20mm mounts. two single 40mm bofors mounts. two twin 40mm bofors mounts. one quad 40mm bofors mount

I know i know that its possible to kill a/c out quite aways with current guns and have done so plenty of times but its still too ez to just jinx around and take down every aa gun with only one fighter. Arial Arty would be a nice addition, since 10's of thousands were produced by pretty much all combatants during ww2.
