Anyone interested in posting interesting locations that can be viewed by the satellite photos posted on Google maps?… I had no idea this was available till I saw a link to this posted here earlier.
I know the photos are at least a couple of years old… But some are a real hoot to look at.
Here is my first.
It’s the Air Force aircraft scrap yard in Tucson Arizona.
Lots to look at, Tons of old planes awaiting their fate. and you can drag the picture with your mouse, and just keep looking.
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.149622,-110.823308&spn=0.003626,0.005676&t=k&hl=en
I was amazed at how many different aircraft I could recognize.

I belive i found HTC HQ when this map thingy was introduced awhile back, but i wasnt sure if i found the right building.
Would be nice if any of you dared to reveal your adress or maybe even post the sattelite pics of your homes. For now I think it only has US cities, but if i find some of my place ill show it. I did find some photos taken from the air of my house a few months ago.. ill see if i can refind them.

there was a thing on TV about that place, not all planes there are to be scraped, they have 4 classes of storage.
1. planes in short term storage that can be returned to service in 60-90 days.
2. planes in long term storage, that could be returned to service.
3. planes being used for spare parts.
4. planes (hulks) that are to be cut up for scrap.

Nice funky, what house from bottom?
-
hey, they have mine now, real recent shot to...probably just this last weekend cause theres no cars at the school parking lot and the only weekend where bother cars were out at the same time was just recent...

Just for giggles I looked at Carswell JRB in Ft.Worth. It was the home of mucho nukes and B-52's before they moved them to Barksdale. It's also one of the longest and heaviest runways in the US. I expected it to be blacked out, but was surprised to see some very good detail. The only aircraft visable were some C-130's and a couple F-16's.

It's super easy to find while I'm flying, the hexagonal spaceships/elementary school nextdoor really help.

I am dead center in the court facing north. This pic is about 2 years old.
That line to the south that borders my neighborhood is a seldom used shortline railroad that hopefully will soon become a lightrail line into Columbus. That is, once the local transit authority gets their collective heads out of their rears.

Somewhere in the middle of the Brown blob in the upper half of the picture to the right of the big white thing that is the sadly defunct Rover works. Rubbish definition on this satelite. But at least I can still run about undetetected by the eye in the sky! :lol

Found my house….….in Russia.

Anyone have the address of a good Nude Beach? Hedonism II or III maybe?

Looks like they've added more areas to their system, nice!
Here's me. (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=60.179501,24.922829&spn=0.004807,0.007607&t=k&hl=en) The picture is taken on a summer morning, since the market place is open - you see all the orange tents on the square. You can get fresh vegetables, fruit and fish there.
My car is probably one of those parked on the square. :)

I found my own car on terraserver once. :)

Rpm, there are two in Helsinki. Here's one (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=60.182279,24.878722&spn=0.006952,0.010439&t=k&hl=en). You can see the two fenced areas, the men and women have their own sides.
Here's the other one. (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=60.138345,24.921112&spn=0.006952,0.010439&t=k&hl=en)

At least some of the material is some years old. Camo, notice how Kamppi area in Helsinki still has busses on wide open bus station ;)
Here is Malmi Airbase (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=60.250708,25.045137&spn=0.007961,0.009602&t=k&hl=en) just a few km:s from my house. FiAF Messerschmitts (and other planes) flew from this field in WW2. Here is another war time base... Kymi (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=60.575180,26.893158&spn=0.049782,0.086174&t=k&hl=en)
