They prefer to be called vertically challenged.

Play on the Horde unless you've already got Alliance friends. There are less Horde players overall, but the quality of skill is a bit higher. It's kinda like playing Rook. :D
I've got a group of 8 of us on Frostwolf US that all play regularly.
Lastly, play on a PVP server. Don't *****foot around. :)
If you happen to be on Frostwolf US, and on the Horde, and need 10 gold or so to last you the first 10-15 levels, drop an ingame mail to me (either alt: Laibon or Midir).
-
umm yes play horde but dont go pvp unless you like endless ganking by 12 year olds, constant corpse camping and vast areas of game content that are just off limits.
I have 2 lvl 60s. A bull shaman and bull tank. Dragonblight and Alleria.

Dnil - I think I might need a translation...

on pvp servers in neutral territory you are fair game to get wacked by the opposing faction. Those areas are where you will start to go at lvl 20. Before lvl 20 you can safely level in your own controlled territory free from getting ganked by the opposing faction, unless you attack first.
What this means is your little lvl 21 butt will get ganked by lvl 60s nonstop in neutral territory. Once you die you turn to a ghost and can run back to your body to ressurrect. Once you do you get ganked again. This repeats until you log off in frustration.
I started on a pvp server and got to about lvl 35. I got tired of questing and fighting only to get ganked when I had zero health from fighting critters. This also means certain areas are just off limits as they are closer to the opposing faction, meaning more peeps in that area.
Non pvp lets you quest and fight stuff without the worry of getting wacked by the kiddos. but allows you to pvp if you feel like it, either in battlegrounds or just by flipping your tag to pvp mode. Much more fun and a lot less headache.

Orc or Tauren all the way..
Alliance is for kids..
Warrior or Mage is the way to go...
Or Shaman/Paladin if you like to be melee/ranged
-
Thnks for the explanations guys - was thinking of going hunter but apparently this can be a little difficult due to very low melee value? On the other hand you do get ranged attack.......

YOu also get cool pets and traps. they might not hit the hardest but they are the most fun to play imo
And go to the PvP servers. lowbies can only get ganked in lowbie areas if they attack first.

Rogues seem very powerful at the moment, especially from < lvl 30. I know of at least 2 all rogue guilds that run around in contested areas stealthed and swarm over much higher level players. Undead seems to be the most common choice for it with the cold, fear, & charm resistances.
Eventually they'll be beaten down by the nerf bat. Either way, gotta stick with my Tauren druid. Shapeshifting rocks. :)

I play a Horde Shaman on Gorgonnash. I knew I wanted a hybrid class before I started, and found out afterwards that Shamans are the most complained about by Alliance. They're total badasses. I definitely recommend you go Horde, and roll on a low-population PvP server. PvE means you PvP only when you really want to, but it sucks out a lot of the tension from the game, and after a while it would get extremely boring not being able to kill the guys who keep taking your monsters/loot and laughing at you.
I never thought I'd enjoy a point'n'click game.. ah well
-
Just got it - am installing now, have however found out that copies available are for Euro servers only - blech - so I won't be seeing you guys online.
Thnks for the tips though much appreciated - final question can you have more than one character per account?
-
Ya but I dont think you can have an alliance and a horde character on the same server.

Schaden welcome to WoW, am euro and play on Dragonmaw english server, and am a lvl 50 Warlock on the Horde,
PvP is fine and never suffered that badly from ganking plus it adds excitment to it, Imagine in if Aces High you had to flip on a sign saying 'yup ready for a fight now'.
Btw our server rocks, nice people, no language probs, and no waiting to get on.
So if you see me around I'm 'Blank' as i was here as well.
:-)
Btw Hunters shine in the battlegrounds, in the group PvP
and Undead Rogue = wow version of La-7, easy mode
And yes you can have as many characters as you like, if on the same server they can only be the same faction, but you can also make characters on other servers as well.
Alot of people when they get higher lvl have a 'Mule' character a little lvl 1 that you use for all your trading plus its free bank space.

Schaden, you might be able to log into the US servers... I remember Shadowbane was configurable, WoW might be too. I don't know for certain, but if you look it up you might be able to find out how to.

I think he'd need to order a US copy to do so. There is localization code in there.
That said there may be a back door way to do it, but I know that no European, Korean or Chinese servers show up on my server list, just US servers.
I also play WoW. Got a 60th Mage. They need to add some stuff to do post 60 and two months though.

If you ever log into Ardent Dawn (RP UK server) look out for Kelidor, Cuddy or Tetrahydraca.
Dem's me.

on pvp servers you cant have alliance and horde toons. On pve you can. and its 9 toons I believe per realm.
Just fyi there is probably more true pvp on pve servers. Just none of the cheese ganks. In the 30 plus toons I have played I have had a mob taken from me only once from the opposite side. Was really no big, 5 minutes later mob spawned again.

Yep. Pretty amazing I can still find time to have sex with girls my own age. Unlike some people.
Miss ya. ;)

I've been playing for 3 months and just sold my account for $200.00. Never again. The game is an addiction. My advice is don't go near it if you want to preserve your social life. The game requires to much time each session you play. It's a virtual carrot dangled in your face, always chasing the next item you must have. Blizzard has created the ultimate game. Along with a subscription game they have created virtual crack. For now on I will only play games I can jump in and out of like FPS and AH2. Heed my warning.

Exactly why I quit Ultima Online.

Dunno, maybe its my "add"... but I am so bored of WoW right now. Levelled a druid to 50, got several other toons in the 20's... and I'm just kind of sick of it.
The population imbalances on most of the servers are on the order of 1.5 to 1, which is huuge for a "two team" PvP type setup. Kind of sucks the fun out of it when you can't hunt because the other sides got so many bored people they camp all the 48+ zones for easy ganks.
