It's definately a Catalina, but there's something strange about that gun. Im not sure if it's a .50.

Also there's some sort of electric gunsight on it?

Can it be a 20mm? Never heard of Catalina's with 20mm's though

The frame and optical gunsight look like this gun is setup for either sniping or maybe thats a lead comp sight.

Ok, it's a refelctive gunsight with a power feed for the .50 cal. it's missing the standard armor plate in front.

My guess is:

Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina aka "Black Cat"

It look that machine gun has night vision parts where the pilots and crews will be flying at the night for attacking Japanese Transport ships while the gunners have "night vision" parts against the enemy fighters at the night.

Otherwise, Matrin PBM-1 Mariner used to have 20mm on nose turret, but never came into operational during WWII and has 7 x 50 machine guns anyway.

As to the exact Varient of the 50 Cal I am unshure, though M2 would be a good gues imo. Acording to Image source this is an Australian Cat.
